New Delhi, April 10 (IANS) She has belted out some of the biggest foot-tapping hits including "Garmi", "Aankh marey", "O saki", "Dilbar" and "Kala chashma" among many others, and enjoys as much popularity as any top singer in contemporary Bollywood. Yet, Neha Kakkar tells you, that singers hardly ever get paid in the film industry.## "We don't get paid for singing in Bollywood at all. What happens is they feel that if we give a superhit song, the singer will earn through shows," Neha told IANS.## The 31-year-old added: "I get a good amount from live concerts and everything, but Bollywood doesn't have this scene. To make us sing a song, they don't pay."## On the work front, Neha will feature in a song with rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh titled "Moscow suka". Mumbai, April 10 (IANS) Paresh Rawal's son Aditya is all set to make his acting debut in the upcoming digital film "Bamfaad", but the National Award-winning veteran actor always thought that Rawal junior would be a writer because he had studied creative writing. The proud father, however, is emotional and overwhelmed seeing his son on-screen.## "The fact that he has signed a film as an actor came as a surprise to me. Aditya had an interest in writing. He is a very good scriptwriter. He writes dialogues and poetry, and I have seen how good he is as a writer. He went abroad and studied (writing), too. So naturally, I thought that he will write films. I did not know that the script he and the team of his film were working on over the past one month was actually his acting assignment! They were doing a workshop. But when I got to know it is his acting debut, I was surprised pleasantly!" Paresh told IANS.## He added, about the cast and crew of his son's debut project: "I know all these youngsters, and all of them are hard-working. Now that I know they put their heart and soul into 'Bamfaad', I really want people to love their work. My wish is not just for Aditya but for the whole team."## "Bamfaad" also features Vinay Varma and Jatin Sarma among others and is set to release on Friday on ZEE5.## While the trailer has received positive feedback, what was his reaction to watching his son on screen? "As a father, when I watched my son on screen, it was an emotional and overwhelming moment. I think he does not look like a debutant. His body language, expressions, dialogue delivery are all in control. He looks the part. He carried himself well as a character in the film. I appreciate that" Paresh replied.## "Usually in a debut film, we look for the potential in an actor. I think Aditya has it in him. As an actor, his basics are correct," said Paresh.## Does he see a younger version of himself in Aditya? "Not at all. Aditya's approach to a character and style of acting is way different from mine. He is methodical as a performer, I am spontaneous. These are two different styles of acting. I think we are also different as individuals."## So, what is his tip for Aditya? "I think we all emphasize hard work. What I told Aditya is, do your hard work as part of your preparation and unlearn it when you are acting. Audience tumahara hard work nahin, Ek film dekhne aa rahein hain (the audience is not coming to see your hard work, they are coming to watch a film). So, people should see the character in you and not Aditya, who is playing the character, or the hard work in between. It has to be seamless. You are an artist, not labor. Mumbai, April 10 (IANS) "Aladdin Naam Toh Suna Hoga" actress Avneet Kaur is enjoying a new kind of busy schedule at home during the nationwide lockdown.## "I am making the best use of this time away from the shoot and spending most of it with my family as I do not get enough time with them. I'm trying out new things as I am completely free with no stress of studies as well. Recently, we celebrated my brother's birthday and I baked a cake for him and it was one of the highlights during this stay at home period," said Avneet.## She is also utilizing this time to re-arrange her room, wardrobe, and make-up.## "I am creating fun content for my social media handles. This time has also brought me much closer to my family and we are watching movies and shows together as a family. I'm closest to my mother. She is like my best friend. So, we both spend a lot of time together doing mother-daughter things," she said.## She also took a moment to thank her fans.## "Another happiest moment that my entire family celebrated recently was when I touched the 10 million marks on Instagram. Los Angeles, April 9 (IANS) "Modern Family" co-creator Steve Levitan, and Christopher Lloyd say they are considering a spin-off series featuring the gay couple Mitch and Cam.## In the series, Mitch is played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Cam is essayed by Eric Stonestreet. The show concluded its eleventh and final season internationally on Wednesday night. The finale showed Mitchell (Ferguson) and Cameron (Stonestreet) moving to Missouri.## Asked if Mitch and Cam going to Missouri gives a potential spin-off idea, Levitan said: "No. At the moment I'm personally not thinking about that."## "I think that there are a couple of writers who are thinking about well, is there a Mitch and Cam spin-off, but they're literally just thinking about it. They're using this time that we have now to think about it if there's something there," deadline.com quoted Levitan as saying.## "I'm not driving this but I'm a huge fan of Jesse and Eric, and those characters are of course near and dear to me, and I certainly think that they're strong enough to carry a show. For me, I really felt that what I needed creatively was to work on something new after working on 'Modern Family' for 12 years and pretty much exclusively," he said.## To this, Lloyd added: "No. We wanted to have them off on a new journey, and it seemed symmetrical to have Mitchell follow Cam someplace and maybe be around Cam's family because Cam had played that role in Mitchell's life for the last 11 years. Cam had this opportunity to do something wonderful and exciting, Mitchell felt okay, that makes my obligation to let him chase his dream, and I will go with him and see what that life is like for me.## "Now having said that yes, it does present a possibility for us. Will that happen? I'm not sure but we would be probably dumb to not explore it. However, doing a spin-off is fraught in a lot of ways and we won't do it unless we feel confident there's something there, I don't want to say it's a long shot, it's under discussion but we'll see. We don't want to jump into something like that, particularly because Modern Family is a tough act to follow, but that is a possibility," Lloyd continued.## "Modern Family" navigates the life of members of the Pritchett family and won hearts for showing a diverse picture of an American family with themes around a gay couple, adoption, dating, young pregnancy and ethnicity running at its core. It is aired in India on Star World.## Questioned about any other spin-off possibilities, Lloyd said: "I would be thrilled to follow any of those people. I have enjoyed living with those characters for a long time. I would love to see what happens to Phil and Claire in that RV, and I would love to know what Dylan and Haley's life is like as they turn into Phil and Claire, but in some ways, that's what the audience will do. Mumbai, April 9 (IANS) Chris Hemsworth's upcoming starrer "Extraction" has been shot largely in India and with a talented set of Indian actors in important roles. Among them is "Bhavesh Joshi Superhero" actor Priyanshu Painyuli.## Priyanshu recalls Hemsworth, globally popular for playing the superhero Thor, as someone who is a delight to be around. "When you work with someone like him, you realize the value of being grounded. He is warm and kind as a colleague. He has this incredible zest to learn more and do better, and the fact that the team made me so comfortable that I wanted to give my best," he said.## Talking of his experience of working in such a massive film, Priyanshu says his biggest takeaway from the international project was the sense of discipline about their work culture, adding that he has a "very special role, in a surprise package" in the film produced by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, who directed the blockbusters "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame".## "My biggest takeaway from this was the discipline of it. Everyone was so well-prepared and so thorough with their scenes. The research is so well-rounded that there are zero scopes for errors when the actor is in front of the camera. Everything is already on the storyboard, discussed and vetted, before the scene. I have been able to inculcate a more methodical approach to work," he said.## The Sam Hargrave directorial is a kidnap extraction drama that has Hemsworth playing a black market mercenary hired to rescue the son of an imprisoned international crime lord. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Randeep Hooda, besides French-Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani and Hollywood actor David Harbour.## About the film, Priyanshu said: It's a very interesting story. I am playing a very special role, in a surprise package. I am eagerly waiting to see myself, I haven't done anything like this before. I can't wait for people to watch this film. Los Angeles, April 9 (IANS) After its 2018 debut season starring Julia Roberts, the web series "Homecoming" returns with actress Janelle Monae taking the second season of the show forward, as a new character telling a new mysterious story.## The first official teaser of season two, released by Amazon Prime Video, shows Monae's character waking up in a rowboat in the middle of a lake, calling for help. She has no memory of how she got there or who she is.## The character's "search for identity will lead her into the heart of the Geist Group, the unconventional wellness company behind the Homecoming Initiative," according to the OTT platform.## The second season finds Stephan James reprising his role as Walter Cruz, who is trying to build a new life following the traumas of war and the Homecoming Initiative, when he begins to realise that there's an even more insidious version of the program underway. Hong Chau will also return as Audrey Temple.## Joining the cast for season two are Oscar-winner Chris Cooper as Leonard Geist, the company's eccentric founder; and Emmy-winner Joan Cusack as Francine Bunda, an equally eccentric military woman.## The co-showrunners and executive producers are Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, who are also the creators of the Gimlet Media podcast upon which the show is based.## All episodes of the second season are directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, who also serves as executive producer. Mumbai, April 9 (IANS) Actress Alaya F, daughter of Pooja Bedi, says nepotism is a reality in Bollywood but insists she did not take her mother's help to secure her debut movie.## Alaya impressed all with her brilliant debut act in the recent "Jawaani Jaaneman". The film also starred Saif Ali Khan and Tabu.## "Nepotism is a reality and I am really glad to be spoken about. I think most people understand the idea of what nepotism is and sometimes it doesn't come out in the right way. If you are aware, you acknowledge it and work hard on it, everything is going to be okay," Alaya said.## "For instance, I did not take my mother's help while working or winning this opportunity. It was always me and my agency. I still do acknowledge and understand the fact that a name attached to you even when you choose to use it or not will give you an advantage," she added## Looking back at her decision to act, she said: "I trained myself for four years to be sure of what I was good at. Everything has been so new and exciting for me and I have met wonderful people along the way. My teachers have contributed hours to train me and made me worthy of being a part of this movie. Honestly, my journey has been very kind to me because of the people I have met along the way. As far as my aspirations go, I want to do a lot of different work. I want to do conventional and unconventional roles which will bring diversity in what I do."## The actress opened up about her journey in an episode of "Starry Nights GEN Y", which is aired in India on Zee Cafe.## On her future in acting, Alaya shared: "I put a lot of pressure on myself, more than anyone else. The main thing is, I love the pressure it doesn't bother me at all, because I have a high expectation from myself and for myself. I just really want to do good work and I would want to grow with every film I do. I want to do different things which again gets tricky. Hopefully, if I can enlighten my fans along with entertaining them this would all be totally worth it. The message is simple . Don't let your paranoia get the better of you. Retain your sanity. This too shall pass," Tanuj said.## He also shared what went behind the making of the movie.## "I shot this on an iPhone 10. I used one of my helpers at home as a stand-in I would frame the shot, then make him rehearse and replicate it and eventually shoot it. Its music video sees Ali Fazal pairing up with Surbhi Jyoti.## Talking about the song titled "Aaj Bhi", Vishal told IANS: "It is a very personal experience for me. Also, it's the most universal thing that we are talking about. There are songs about break-up and love, but nobody talks about the time when you have a break-up and you move on in life. You reach somewhere else but you still miss that person, that memory or that moment."## "We might be married, successful, happy or with somebody or even single, but we still miss that little moment of understanding. I feel everybody has gone through love and lost love. This song will surely remind them of their beautiful moments. This is for that part of your heart which is not understood by anybody... This song will become a companion then," he added.## "Aaj Bhi" has been put together by Vishal, who has sung, composed and written it. Its music video stars Ali and Surbhi and is directed by Gurmmeet Singh of "Mirzapur" fame.## Ali shared: "Honestly, it's weird as I have never been this excited for a music video and I think this is because there is something very genuine about 'Aaj Bhi'. And Vishal with his soulful and power-packed voice has already taken it to a level where I thought I couldn't do anything, but I think somewhere it comes together beautifully with Gurmmeet's direction. We had to show two different lives, I think that was the biggest challenge for us as we had to bring out these small nuances that I was trying to focus on as it's difficult, to sum up, the entire life in a few minutes in a song."## "'Aaj Bhi' will remind us about that one ex who has meant a lot to us, and been there in our lives and made big differences. There is a huge part of us made up of these little fragments as we move along in life and I hope that people can have this conversation now that the song is finally out!" he added.## Commenting on the track, Surbhi said: "This is my first project with Ali and VYRL Originals and I was super excited and then I heard this song I was like ‘oh my God!', Vishal has sung it so beautifully and the composition of the song is so smooth and touching."## "I am grateful that I got to feature in 'Aaj Bhi' because when I heard it for the first time, I was in love with it. Adding more chaos and confusion to his life is the photo frame of his late wife, who occasionally talks to him and nags him on certain decisions.## "I am very excited about the return of 'Hum Paanch' on Zee TV, not just because the show is finally coming back, but also because it's coming back at a time when everyone is locked down at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, it is also coming back due to public demand, which is like a cherry on the cake. I remember very clearly, we entertained the audience for nine long years and with every episode, the TRP's went higher. We used to make people laugh and enjoy, so I feel this is an apt time to come back and entertain everyone. For the amount of time, they will watch the show, people will surely forget their miseries," said Rakhi.## She has many memories associated with the show in which she had played Sweety Mathur.## "I would like to take this opportunity and give a tribute to (producer) Ekta Kapoor. I don't think many people know, but she started her career when she was just 16 years old and she created history by sitting on the boss' chair at such a young age. The best part was that even though she was the boss, she used to come and give us the character brief and script brief personally. In fact, at times, she would even act it out for us, which was really fantastic," said Rakhi.## "To be honest, 'Hum Paanch' was her concept, she did the casting and every episode was also approved by her. Her passion really inspired us. I'd also like to add that the show holds a very special place in my heart because we all (the cast) started off with this show together at a really young age and none of the girls had any traits of competitiveness or jealousy. In fact, we were just like a family.
