Los Angeles, March 17 (IANS) Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been released from the hospital in Australia after receiving treatment for COVID-19 infection. ## The couple have been released from a Queensland hospital and were now in self-quarantine at their home there, a representative for Hanks told cnn.com on Monday. ## The couple had been hospitalised in isolation after being diagnosed with novel coronavirus last week. ## Hanks and Wilson have been in Australia for pre-production work on a film about singer Elvis Presley. Hanks is set to play Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the film directed by Baz Luhrmann. Production on the project is currently suspended. ## The couple took to Instagram separately to share the news last Thursday. ## "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive," Hanks said in his first Instagram post about the diagnosis. "Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks' will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We'll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!" ## Over the weekend, Hanks shared updates on their care and ongoing recovery. The responsibility gets bigger if the person being essayed is a cop and is still in service, Mohit Raina tells you from personal experience, after working in the web series "Bhaukaal". ## The show is based on a real-life cop named Navniet Sekera. In the show, Mohit's character is called Naveen Sikhera. ## "It's a very raw and rusty subject inspired by true life events. It's based on a real life IPS officer who still holds a very important position in the Uttar Pradesh police force. This was in the early 2000s when he completely cleaned up several places in Uttar Pradesh including Muzaffarnagar, which was known as the crime capital of the country at that time," Mohit claimed whole speaking to IANS. ## The actor added: "The story is based on his life. He is a very famous name over there and has completely changed the meaning of police force, in Uttar Pradesh especially. 'Bhaukaal' is a 10-episodic series where I play him." ## Quizzed if it is an added responsibility playing a police officer who is still in service, the actor replied: "Yes of course. It is an added responsibility because you are portraying someone who is still in service." ## "Before shoot commenced, I met him, spent some time with him and his family. He comes from a very simple farming background. After meeting him I realized that he is very passionate, dedicated about his work and has a daredevil nature. Women's safety has been his top priority over the years. I realized that my responsibility is too much because he is still in service. Agra, March 17 (IANS) The annual three day Urs of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, builder of the iconic Taj Mahal, will not be held, as scheduled from March 21, as the historic monuments including the Taj in the city have been shut down till March 31, in the wake of COVID-19. ## This will be the first time in the history of the Taj, that the annual Urs will not be held. ## During the three day Urs, entry remains free and a series of functions are organised. Work on the 365 metre long chadar, to be offered, had begun. ## A member of the organising committee said, the convention would indeed be disrupted, but the safety of the country was more important. ## The whole area around the Taj Mahal wears a deserted look. The Taj is visited by around 30,000 people daily. For the past one month there had been a steep decline. ## Agra mayor Navin Jain had asked for closure of the monuments, in a letter to the union tourism minister, a fortnight ago. ## The Agra Development Authority used to earn around Rs 14 crore daily from ticket sales. ## On Tuesday, a pall of gloom descended on the tourism sector, as guides, photographers, taxi drivers, hoteliers were left with no work. ## The once crowded parking areas were vehicle free. The eleven five star hotels and around 25 three star hotels, plus countless guest houses, dharamshalas and smaller hotels are waiting for customers. How long this wait will be, uncertainty continues. ## Only during the 1971 war with Pakistan, the Taj Mahal was closed for more than a week. London, March 17 (IANS) Hollywood actor Idris Elba announced that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. ## Taking to Twitter on Monday, the star of "Luther" and "The Wire", said: "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. ## The 47-year-old actor said he has been isolated since finding out that he was exposed to the virus. ## Elba, who also posted a video featuring his wife Sabrina Dhowre, said she has not been tested and was "doing OK". ## The Golden Globe winning actor said he got tested after finding out on Friday (March 13) that he had been in contact with someone who had the virus. ## "This is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands," he said in the video. ## Elba told fans to remain "really vigilant". ## "Transparency is probably the best thing for this right now. If you're feeling ill, or you feel like you should be tested, or if you've be en exposed, do something about it." ## The actor was one of the attendees of the Wembley Arena We Day event on March 4 alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, who was also tested positive for the virus last week. ## Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Elba in "The Wire", sent a get well soon message on Twitter. ## He said: "The entire cast of 'The Wire' wishes our brother Idris Elba to get well soon as he fights this virus. The multilingual film, which was slated to hit theatres on April 2, has been rescheduled and a fresh release date will be announced later. ## Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted on Monday: "Because health and safety comes above everything! Hope to see you guys soon at the theatres. Till then, stay safe! #Aranya #Kaadan #HaathiMereSaathi. April 2nd release postponed.." ## He also shared a notification issued by the production house Eros International, which reads: "Eros International has always kept our audience's interest at forefront as a core value. Healthy and happy audiences have always kept us motivated to produce and distribute unique stories that have never been told before. In light of recent developments of COVID-19, our recent announcement regarding the scheduled release of Haathi Mere Saathi, Aranya and Kaadan stands changed." ## The makers further announced that they are monitoring the situation and will be back with a new release date. ## Directed by Prabu Solomon, the film releases as "Hathi Mere Saathi" in Hindi, and simultaneously as "Aranya" in Telugu and "Kaadan" in Tamil. London, March 16 (IANS) From being raised by an emotionally cold mother to experiencing violence, war and bereavement, difficult life events have a profound effect on our physical and mental wellbeing in later life, says a study. ## The findings, published in the Journal of Public Health, showed how a range of life inequalities and hardships are linked to physical and mental health inequalities in later life. ## According to the researchers, these stressful and often heart-breaking life inequalities included having emotionally cold parents, poor educational opportunities, losing an unborn child, financial hardship, involvement in conflict, violence and experiencing a natural disaster. ## "We looked at the life history of each participant and compared it to their quality of life and how well they can perform activities like dressing themselves, bathing, preparing hot meals, doing gardening and money management," said study lead researcher Oby Enwo from the University of East Anglia in the UK ## "We found that people who had suffered many difficult life events were significantly less likely to experience a good quality of life than those who had lived easier lives," Enwo said. ## "They were three times more likely to suffer psychiatric problems, twice as likely to be detached from social networks, and twice as likely to have long-standing illness," she added. ## For the findings, the research team studied data taken from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) - a longitudinal study of adults over 50 living in England. ## Participants were invited to answer a life history questionnaire. The research team took into account responses from 7,555 participants to questions that represented broad topics in life history. ## The researchers grouped the participants to four main groups - those who reported few life events, those with an emotionally cold mother, those who had experienced violence in combat and those who had experienced a number of difficult life events. ## Some of these questions were around their upbringing - such as whether a parent had been emotionally cold and the estimated number of books in their home at 10 years old. ## Other questions focused on events in adult life - such as whether they had fought in a war or lost an unborn child. ## The researchers analysed the responses to identify patterns of life events, and also took into account factors such as age, ethnicity, sex and socioeconomic status. ## The research team found that people who experienced the greatest levels of hardship, stress and personal loss were five times more likely to experience a lower quality of life, with significantly more health and physical difficulties in later life. ## Those brought up by an emotionally cold mother were also significantly less likely to experience a good quality of life and more likely to experience problems in later life such as anxiety, psychiatric problems and social detachment. ## The study also revealed that people raised by an emotionally cold mother were also significantly less likely to experience a good quality of life, and were more likely to report psychiatric problems and be detached from social networks, compared to people who had experienced few difficult life events. ## For more and the latest news about Lifestyle, stay tuned to us.
