'John Wick 5' Officially Confirmed With Star Keanu Reeves and Director Chad Stahelski Set To Return

Los Angeles, April 2 - John Wick is set to return for at least one more time as Lionsgate has officially confirmed the fifth installment of this action thriller franchise at the CinemaCon event 2025. ## Taking to the CinemaCon stage on Tuesday morning, Lionsgate announced John Wick 5 with star Keanu Reeves set to return as the nunchuck-wielding hitman along with director Chad Stahelski. The story for the movie has been finalized. ## Meanwhile, the action franchise is expanding with an animated prequel film and a Caine-centric standalone adventure from director-star Donnie Yen. Additionally, there is the spin-off, Ballerina starring Ana de Armas slated to hit the screens on June 6. ## The fourth instalment, John Wick: Chapter 4 of this decade-long franchise, was released in 2023 and grossed over $440 million at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing movie of the series. John Wick Spin-Off 'Ballerina' Release Date Postponed By A Year

Los Angeles, February 22 - John Wick's spin-off film Ballerina starring Ana de Armas has been postponed by almost a year. The action thriller is the first spin-off movie and the fifth instalment overall in the John Wick franchise. ## According to Deadline, Ballerina, which was supposed to be released in June 2024, will now be hitting theatres on June 6, 2025. The move comes as John Wick architect Chad Stahelski has inked a new deal with Lionsgate to oversee the franchise. ## Stahelski is said to be working with Ballerina director Len Wiseman on additional action sequences for the movie, to amp it up even more than it is. Additionally, Lionsgate is giving enough time as the studio just wants to make the movie even better. ## Taking place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, ballerina-assassin Rooney hunts the murderers of her family. The Fifth Installment of The Keanu Reeves-Fronted 'John Wick' Franchise Is In The Early Development

Los Angeles, May 27 - The 4-films John Wick recently crossed the milestone of $1 billion at the global box office after the recording-breaking performance of "John Wick: Chapter 4" which has so far grossed over $425 million worldwide. ## Now, as "John Wick 4" is nearing its run at the box office, Lionsgate has already started working on its fifth installment with Keanu Reeves returning to reprise his role as Baba Yaga aka John Wick, a professional hitman and assassin. ## During a Q4 earnings call on Thursday, Lionsgate's motion picture group chair Joe Drake presented the plans of the studio for the "John Wick" franchise and teased the 5th installment of the action thriller series. ## "What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We're in development on three others, including five and including the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon", Joe Drake said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## "We're building out the world and when that five movies comes, it will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we're starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick", he added.## In Chapter 4, directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table, a journey that sets in motion the events of the film and its climatic dual at Paris' Sacré Coeur. 'Fast X' Emerges Another Hollywood Box Office Hit of 2023 In India

Mumbai, May 23 - This year has been very good for Hollywood films so far in India with back-to-back box office hits. The latest in the list is Universal Pictures' high-octane action thriller Fast X which had the biggest opening weekend of the "Fast & Furious" franchise in India. ## The 10th main installment in the franchise, "Fast X" was released on Thursday, May 18, and took a good opening. It got mixed word of mouth but Despite that, the movie witnessed an upward trend over the weekend to score a fantastic 71 crores gross ($8.6 million) 4-day weekend. ## The Louis Leterrier's directorial held well on the make-or-break first Monday by grossing over 7 crores and remained steady since then which has ensured a healthy lifetime gross total in India of the movie. The total first-week gross collection is close to 94 crores and it will breach the 100 crores gross mark during the second weekend to become the first Hollywood movie of the year to do so. ## "Fast X" is the 4th Hollywood hit of the year in India. Earlier, Keanu Reeves's "John Wick: Chapter 4" and Warner Bros. horror flick "Evil Dead Rise" emerged as unexpected box office hits with the former went on to gross over 50 crores mark. Warner Bros. 'Evil Dead Rise' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film In The Franchise

Los Angeles, May 7 - Warner Bros. Pictures' horror thriller Evil Dead Rise, which was almost landed directly on streaming, has become the highest-grossing film in the Evil Dead franchise at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. ## The fifth installment in the series, "Evil Dead Rise" has crossed the $100 million mark at the worldwide box office, surpassing the lifetime total of $97.50 million of the 4th film "Evil Dead" which was released in 2013. The total worldwide cume of the film reached $114.80 million, including $60.70 million internationally through the third weekend.## The Lee Cronin-directed film is projected to reach $54+ million at the domestic (North America) box office by 3rd Sunday and is likely to top fourth "Evil Dead's" lifetime domestic haul of $54.20 million to become the biggest film in the series domestically as well. ## The original "Evil Dead" was directed by Sam Raimi in 1981, and earned $2.90 million worldwide. Raimi went on to make "Evil Dead 2" in 1987, which earned $5.90 million worldwide, and "Army of Darkness" in 1992, which made $11.50 million, before Fede Álvarez directed the 4th installment. ## Interestingly, "Evil Dead Rise" has emerged as a surprise blockbuster in India with an estimated gross total of $4 million through the 3rd Sunday. Los Angeles, May 1 - Lionsgate Films' spy action thriller John Wick: Chapter 4 is continuing to put up a strong show at the North American as well as the overseas box office and crossed the $400 million worldwide mark. ## Despite being an R-rated flick, the film continues to draw audiences in its sixth week of release and becomes the only film in the franchise to top the $400 million worldwide box office mark.
