Karan Johar's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' Non-Theatrical Rights Attracts 160 Crores?

Mumbai, July 23 - Filmmaker Karan Johar's much-awaited romantic family drama film "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" is getting ready to release this Friday, July 28. The movie stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles alongside Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key roles. ## According to Bollywood Hungama, RRKPK has been made in a budget of 160 crores while the additional cost is around 18 crores, making it 178 crores budgeted movie. Meanwhile, the makers have already recovered 90% through the non-theatrical rights so it will easily turn out to be a big profitable venture. ## It is said that the makers have sold the post-theatrical streaming rights to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping 80 crores while satellite rights sold to Colors for 50 crores, and another Rs. 30 crores coming from the sale of its music rights to Saregama. The makers have recovered a total of 160 crores from non-theatrical rights. ## RRKPK is expected to perform well at the box office as well given the huge scale and a rock-solid star cast with a blockbuster director. Mumbai, July 23 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is teaming with director Anees Bazmee for the first time. The action-comedy movie will see Shahid playing a double role in the upcoming movie that also reportedly stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. ## Recently, it was revealed that the shoot of the movie will commence in August this year, and before that, the makers have been looking to lock in a title. Now, according to a report in Mid-Day, Bazmee has locked a quirky and catchy title, keeping with the light-hearted flavor of the story. ## The report reveals that the maiden collaboration between Shahid and Bazmee has been titled "Ek Saath Do Do". The title is said to be in sync with Shahid's double role. ## "Anees has locked Ek Saath Do Do as the title to harp on the actor's double role. The name can even be read as 1.7.22. The date is of significance in the narrative, and ties in neatly with the protagonist and his twin's journey", a source from the creative team revealed to Mid-Day.## The shoot of "Ek Sath Do Do" will commence at a specially designed set of a Rajasthani haveli in a Mumbai studio. "A chunk of the film is set in a Rajasthani village. After the monsoon, the team will head to the desert state for an extensive schedule. Mumbai, July 22 - Acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is set to produce a small-town love story film starring Rajkummar Rao and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles under his production banner Benaras Media Works, as per the reports.## The movie, tentatively titled "Bachpan Ka Pyaar", will be directed by Apurva Dhar Badgaiyann, who previously helmed the Jitendra Kumar-starrer romantic comedy "Chaman Bahaar" (2020). The movie is reportedly titled "Khel Khel Mein" and has Tapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor as the female leads. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Khel Khel Mein" is the official Hindi adaptation of a blockbuster Italian movie "Perfect Strangers" (2016). It was a critically as well as commercially successful movie, grossing over $32 million, and has already been remade in more than 20 countries. ## "Mudassar Aziz has been eager to make an Indian version of it for a long time and has adapted the screenplay in a desi style to suit the sensibilities of Indian audiences", the report says, adding that the shoot will commence in October this year and it will be shot in a two-month straight schedule in the UK. ## The movie was supposed to go on floors early this year but the production got delayed due to Akshay's other commitments. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty Opens Up On The Box Office Failure Of Ranveer Singh-Fronted 'Cirkus'

Mumbai, July 15 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty takes the blame on himself for the box office failure of the comedy caper "Cirkus" starring Ranveer Singh in a double role. Released in December last year, the movie failed miserably to gross just around 60 crores, becoming the lowest-grossing film of Shetty since "All The Best" (2009) at the worldwide box office. ## During a recent interview with India Today, the maverick filmmaker said that every success and failure of his movies belongs to him. "I make sure to surround myself with people who are honest with me. So, when a film doesn't do well, I know it. Hence, I have always believed that both my successes and failures are mine. There is no point shying away from it", he said.## "When a 'Singham' or a 'Golmaal' did well, that was also mine, so when a 'Zameen' (2003), a 'Dilwale' or a 'Cirkus' failed, that was also mine. I don't see a point in blaming anything else", Shetty added.## The "Singham" director further said that "Cirkus" was made during the pandemic for the workers so that they can earn their livelihood. Shetty's next theatrical release is the highly-anticipated third installment of the "Singham" franchise starring Ajay Devgn which is due to start filming next month and be released during Independence Day weekend 2024.## Shetty promises to make a solid comeback with "Singham Again". "The same audience made 'Sooryanshi' a blockbuster despite a 50% occupancy, and if it didn't work for 'Cirkus', I must take ownership of failures as well.
