Dharma Productions Announces The Release Date Of Director Raj Mehta's Multistarrer 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'

Mumbai, November 21 - After winning accolades for "Good Newwz", director Raj Mehta returns with his next family comedy-drama "Jug Jugg Jeeyo", featuring a talented star cast - Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles alongside Prajakta Koli and Manish Paul. ## Produced by Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta in association with Viacom18 Studios, "Jug Jugg Jeeyo" will be released in theaters worldwide on June 24, 2022. Box Office: YRF's 'Bunty Aur Babli 2's' Poor Opening Helps 'Sooryavanshi' To Regain Momentum

Mumbai, November 20 - Yash Raj Productions' "Bunty Aur Babli 2" has had a poor opening at the box office. A sequel to the 2005's film netted just Rs. 2.60 crores [3.05 crore gross on Friday (November 19). ## Starring Saif Ali Khan, and Rani Mukerji reprising their roles from the original film alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari Wagh as a new edition, the comedy, however, was expected to open in the range of 4-5 crores, but negative reviews and word of mouth dent its chances big time. ## Overseas, Varun V. Sharma-directed grossed approx Rs. 1.25 crores, for its total worldwide gross to a decent Rs. 4.30 crores on the first day. However, the poor show of YRF's film helped "Sooryavasnhi", which is going super strong at the box office, to regain the momentum at the Indian box office. The Akshay Kumar-starrer jumped 3.16% on its 3rd Friday for Rs. 3.26 crores. This takes "Sooryavanshi's" total India net collection to a nice Rs. 169.50 crores after 15 days. ## At the worldwide box office, Rohit Shetty-directed has grossed Rs. 254 crores so far, including Rs. 54 in overseas markets. With "Bunty Aur Babli 2" is not looking to challenge much, "Sooryavanshi" eyes to earn approx Rs. 12 crores during its 3rd weekend. It is currently Akshay's 5th highest-grossing film at the India box office. Mumbai, November 20 - Two giants of their respective film industries, Aamir Khan and Yash will be taking each other head-on at the box office after Khan's long-awaited "Laal Singh Chaddha" is pushed to April 14, 2022. The comedy-drama was supposed to release on Valentines Day next year, however, due to the long post-production requirement, the makers postponed the release by two months. ## Directed by Advait Chandan, "Lal Singh Chaddha" is an adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name. Box Office: Sooryavanshi Sets Eyes On Rs. 200 Crores After Strong Second Week Finish

Mumbai, November 19 - Akshay Kumar-fronted "Sooryavanshi" is still in the race to become Bollywood's first Rs. 200 crore net collection film during the covid-19 pandemic. After finishing the first week on high, the cop-drama maintained the stronghold in the second week as well with a drop of 62% (on par with the pre-covid level) for Rs. 45.57 crores. ## Directed by hit master Rohit Shetty, "Sooryavanshi" currently stands at Rs. 166.23 crores net and Rs. 196.15 crore gross in India. Overseas, it has grossed Rs. 53 crores so far, for its total worldwide gross of Rs. 249.15 crores. It will cross Rs. 250 crore gross on its third Friday at the worldwide box office. ## While "Sooryavanshi" has paved the way for upcoming Bollywood biggies, Rs. 200 crore India net will be a landmark foot if it is able to achieve. FWICE Demands Apology From Vir Das For His 'I Come From Two Indias' Monologue

Mumbai, November 18 - Actor-comedian Vir Das is getting into trouble for his monologue "I come from two Indias", which he recited at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, a few days ago. An FIR against him has been registered in Mumbai, and now, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had demanded an apology from him for his remarks.## Das, in his 6-minute satire video, talked about the duality of the country as he touched upon topical issues like the battle against COVID-19, incidents of rapes, farmers protests, a crackdown against comedians and petrol prices. ## B N Tiwari, President of FWICE, said that the federation will not let Das work in the industry until he apologises for his remark. "What he said was disgusting. We won't support him unless he apologises. Wherever he shoots, we will try to stop him, continue with our non-cooperation with him. For us, the nation is first. Box Office: Sooryavanshi Becomes The Highest-Grossing Indian Film Of 2021 At The Worldwide BO

Mumbai, November 16 - It took one big shot for the Bollywood film industry to regain its lost kingdom. Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi", which is the biggest Bollywood film in the last 18 months, has become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021 at the worldwide box office. ## Rohit Shetty-directed cop drama has grossed ₹ 234 crores worldwide over 11 days and surpassed Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Master", which grossed approx ₹ 223 crores at the worldwide box office. Box Office: Sooryavanshi Go Past 150 Crores India Net After Strong Second Weekend

Mumbai, November 15 - Sooryavanshi continued its box office juggernaut and scored a brilliant ₹ 30.68 crores (estimate) in the second weekend. The strong second weekend helped this Akshay Kumar-fronted to go past ₹ 150 crores net in India, the 6th highest domestic figure for him. ## "Sooryavanshi" dropped 50% from the first Sunday for its second Sunday collection of ₹ 13.39 crores and down by 60% on the second weekend as compared to ₹ 77.08 crores in the opening Diwali weekend. The current domestic net collection for Rohit Shetty-directed stands at ₹ 151.23 crores after 10 days.## Overseas, "Sooryavanshi" has grossed approx ₹ 50 crores so far, which is the best overseas box office number for a Bollywood movie since December 2019 when Akshay's own film, "Good Newwz" grossed ₹ 74 crores. The total worldwide box office collection of "Sooryavanshi" stands at ₹ 228 crores, which is again, 6th highest gross worldwide total for the Bell Bottom actor. ## Katrina Kaif, who plays the female lead in "Sooryavanshi" also scored her 6th highest domestic earner. Mumbai, November 15 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty having an interview tour over the super success of his recently released, "Sooryavanshi", which he held back for more than 18 months to give a theatrical release. The Akshay Kumar-fronted cop-drama is very well accepted by the audiences and everyone has nice things to say about this film. ## However, despite all the love and positive word of mouth from the audiences of every type, there is a certain media group that has been questioning the casting of the villain of a Muslim outfit in the film. In a recent interview with The Quint (via opindia), the journalist pointed out that the 'good Muslim' and 'bad Muslim' scenario in the film is problematic.## Rohit Shetty, however, countered the question with a befitting reply and asked the journalist why no one had a problem when he cast Hindu villains in his previous three cop films. He questioned why the Hindu villains from the previous films were not objected to because of their caste. ## "If I ask you one question... Jaikant Shikre (in Singham) was a Hindu Marathi. Then a second film came where a Hindu godman was there. Then in Simmba, Durva Ranade was a Maharashtrian again. In these three, negative forces were Hindu, why isn't that a problem?" That oh, they are portraying it like I have seen in brackets somebody writing bad Muslims being preached by upper-caste Hindus, which is very wrong.
