Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Actress Swara Bhasker feels the whole world is facing a huge and dangerous pandemic, and says that it is time to leave aside political differences and do our bit for the safety of the country. ## "The whole world is facing a huge and dangerous pandemic.. it has been found that self quarantine and social distancing slow the speed with which the virus spreads," Swara said. ## "As our government makes efforts to bring the situation under control- as responsible citizens we must do our bit and follow the prescribed restrictions. Every movement has to adapt into the reality of the moment. And at this moment it is important that we leave aside our political differences and do our bit for the safety of the country and the whole world," she added. ## Earlier this week, the actress had posted on Instagram, urging the protesters to go home and self isolate due to the threat of the coronavirus. ## She posted: "My appeal to ALL the sit-in protests in times of Corona We are committed to the Constitution and we are committed to the values of the Constitution. Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Actor Swwapnil Joshi, who is receiving praise for his performance in his latest Marathi web series "Samantar", feels self-quarantine in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic has given him quality time to spend with his family. ## "I think everyone should take some time out to empty himself/herself, so that some kind of intellectual growth happens. This phase for me and for my family is a blessing in disguise. Not that we as a family do not spend time together, we do go for family dinners and shopping at malls and hotels. Now we are doing everything in a more participatory manner. Like in the kitchen we are helping each other to cook. We sit and watch films together, and chat over chai because we are not ordering food or sitting in a public place. Home is home after all," Swwapnil told IANS. ## Sharing a special chat he had with his daughter, the actor said: "Both my kids are very naughty. My daughter is four and my son is three. She sees that I don't step out and she says, 'why are you not going out? Is your school closed?' When I said yes, she asked me why am I not doing homework like she does, (and whether I was) in winter or summer vacation? I said I don't have to do homework, and she replied, 'I think I should join your school, in my school the teacher gives us homework. Your school is so much fun! Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) South superstar Kamal Haasan and his entire family are under self-isolation in different cities and houses. His wife Sarika and elder daughter Shruti are currently residing in separate apartments in Mumbai while the actor-politician himself and younger daughter Akshara are in Chennai in different houses. ## "I am used to being by myself. The difficult part is not having the option to go out and the looming fear of what all of this means for us. People have started taking it seriously in the last few days. Thankfully, by the time I returned, the shoots were also getting cancelled. My entire family has self-isolated. Mum (actress Sarika) is in Mumbai as well but in another apartment, Dad (Kamal Haasan) and Akshara (sister) are in Chennai but in separate houses. All of us had different travelling schedules and it didn't make sense for us to isolate together. That's the decision I feel people should make," Shruti told Mumbai Mirror. ## Shruti has returned from London just 10 days ago and is under home quarantine since then. ## The actress took to Instagram on Monday to share: "I hope everyone's ok ? Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that entire India will be locked down for the next 21 days from midnight tonight (25 March) and urged Indians to forget what stepping out feels like, or warned that the entire country will go back 21 years.## So far, more than 500 coronavirus positive cases reported in the country. To break the chain, PM Narendra Modi said the next 21 days will be crucial and decide the country's future. ## Here are the key points the PM highlighted during the address to the nation -## - Complete Lockdown in Country - The nation is going to take a very important decision. Starting midnight, the whole country will be under complete lockdown to save the country. The lockdown will continue for 21 days starting midnight tonight. ## - "If we are not able to manage the upcoming 21 days (of nationwide complete lockdown), we will be pushed back 21 years,"## - "You have to remember that a Coronavirus infected person initially appears to be normal and doesn't show symptoms. So maintain precautions and stay at home. ## - "Social distancing applies to everyone, including your prime minister"## - The prime minister asks the people to think about those in the essential services, who are working round the clock to serve the country, in these testing times. ## - "Today India is at the stage where our actions today, will decide that to what extent we can bring down the impact of this disaster. This is the time to strengthen our resolve again and again,"## - The central government has allotted Rs 15,000 Crore to develop the country's healthcare and make it efficient enough to deal with the menace of coronavirus. The money will be used to develop testing facilities, PPEs, ICUs, Ventilators and training medical workers. ## - "I am confident that India will not only successfully tackle this challenge but also emerge victorious in this time of crisis take care of yourself and take care of your near and dear ones,"## - "We are taking all steps to ensure continuous essential supplies. It is a fact that this unfortunate phase has brought a lot of difficulties for the poor. But the central government, state government‘s social organizations and civil society are working to reduce the difficulties for the poor,"## - "A number of people are coming forward to help them. We are making efforts to not only give priority to what is required for daily life but also what is required for protecting everyone's life. The government has taken decisions on the advice and suggestions of the WHO, the medical and scientific institutes and health experts,"## Earlier, Prime Narendra Modi addressed the nation on 19th March and announced one day Janata Curfew on March 22 that was very much successful. Chennai, March 24 (IANS) Superstar Rajinikanth has donated Rs 50 lakh for the wellbeing of daily wage workers of South Indian film industry in the time of complete shutdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic, according to reports. Several other top star of southern cinema including Suriya, Karthi and Vijay Sethupati, besides many filmmakers have pitched in, too. ## Given the recent outbreak of COVID-19, theatres across Tamil Nadu have been closed, and shoot of films, television serials and advertisements are on hold as well. The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) president RK Selvamani earlierissued an appeal through a press release requesting the South Indian film fraternity to provide financial help to the daily wage members of the federation who don't have an income right now. ## Within a few hours Suriya, Karthi along with their father Sivakumar donated Rs 10 lakh. It was later reported that actor Sivakarthikeyan too donated Rs 10 lakh. ## Now, it is said that superstar Rajinikanth has donated 50 lakhs, while Vijay Sethupathi has donated 10 lakhs for the welfare of FEFSI members. ## Actors Parthipan and Prakash Raj have provided several rice bags weighing 25 kg each. Ever since RK Selvamani had put a request, Kollywood celebrities are leaving no stone unturned to help FEFSI members in need.
