Mumbai, Dec 14, 2021: Ahead of the motion poster launch of hugely-anticipated Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra, Amitabh Bachchan has dropped a glimpse of this magnum opus. ## Taking to his Twitter handle, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "T 4128 - Our journey of sharing Brahmāstra with the world is finally beginning! Love .. Light .. Fire .. Brahmāstra Motion Poster out tomorrow .." In the poster, we can see Ranbir covered with fire all over, with his arms stretched out. Seeing the same, one can certainly guess that Ranbir's character Shiva may have a deep connection with the fire in the film. Former Miss Universe Winners Hail Newly Crowned Harnaaz Sandhu For Making India Proud

Mumbai, December 14 - India's 21-year old, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu has become the new Miss Universe titleholder. The actress-model from Chandigarh, Punjab becomes the 3rd Indian after Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta to win the Miss Universe title. ## The last time India won the Miss Universe crown was in 2000 when Lara Dutt made India proud on the world stage. Interestingly, Harnaaz was born in the year when Lara wore the crown. She is being hailed as destiny's child. Sushmita was the first from India to win Miss Universe in 1994. ## Harnaaz was announced the winner in the 70th edition of Miss Universe, held in Eilat, Israel on December 12. 20 Years On For Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Mumbai, Dec 14, 2021: Today completes 20 years of one of the historic hits of this generation "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" which was released exactly 20 years ago on 14 December 2001. The ensemble multi-starrer family drama is considered one of the biggest multi-starrer ever made on the Indian-theatrical screens. ## The film featured 3 major stars and although Amitabh Bachchan was past his box office domination days, his popularity remained untouched and he was among the most popular stars of that time. The film also had the current sensation, Hrithik Roshan, the first time sharing the screen with Shah Rukh Khan who was a major established star from the mid-90s. ## Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham had a huge pre-release hype due to its casting and music and as a result, the film took an earth-shattering opening. The film had broken the previous highest opening day record held by Sunny Deol's actioner Indian by more than 30% margin. For Shah Rukh Khan, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham was his 7th Blockbuster along with Darr(1993), Karan Arjun(1995), Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge(1995), Dil Toh Paagal Hai(1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai(1998), and Mohabbtein(2000). It was 2nd Blockbuster film for Amitabh Bachchan in Character roles after Mohabbtein. ## Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was never seen before phenomenon overseas breaking every existing record by huge margins and setting new records which took many years to get broken. It was the top overseas earner of the year but that just does not describe the euphoria it created overseas. ## Adjusted To Inflation, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham will be more than 350cr with the 2019 average ticket price in domestic business. Sooryavanshi Is Not Finished Yet

Mumbai, December 13 - Rohit Shetty's "Sooryavanshi" is turning out to be a true box office monster. There have been many films in the past that died down after the first week itself, and then, there is "Sooryavasnhi", which is into its 6th week and still going strong despite limited shows. ## The covid-19 pandemic has posed many challenges in front of the Indian film industry, especially Bollywood. There haven't been many theatrical releases in the last 18 months or so and those released didn't perform up to their potential. Honestly, there haven't been any audience-appealing films that could have forced people to visit theaters. ## However, things changed after the second covid-19 wave as Bollywood decided to step ahead. While many films are still not performing to their potential (not bad either), Sooryavanshi has been exceptional on every front. This Akshay Kumar-starrer was Bollywood's best foot forward to bring the industry back to its strong feet, and not surprisingly, it has performed like that at the box office. ## Released over Diwali weekend, "Sooryavanshi" has had a free run at the box office for at least two weeks and it took full advantage of that by earning over Rs. 165 crores. It is the first Rs. 100 crore Bollywood grosser at the domestic box office during the pandemic. It was expected TBH since it had a star element attached to it, plus, it was mass appealing, which helped it to perform significantly well on single screens. ## After finishing two weeks' run, there was a big challenge for "Sooryavanshi" to carry the momentum because of the new release in form of "Bunty Aur Babli 2" (Nov. 19), and then "SMJ2" (Nov. 25), and "Antim: The Final Truth" (Nov. 26). "Sooryavanshi" passed that challenge with flying colors and netted Rs. 18.68 crores in the 3rd week, followed by Rs. 6.43 crores in the 4th week. And this all happened with Maharasthra cinemas operating with 50% occupancy. ## The 4th week was probably the toughest for "Sooryavanshi" as it had to compete with two mass-oriented films at the box office. It not only rose through that challenge but also maintained that momentum in the 5th week as well as 6th weekend despite new releases in the form of "Tadap" and "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui". ## "Sooryavanshi" will most probably be finished around Rs. 197 crores India net from the current total of Rs. 195.04 crores after 38 days. The box office run of "Sooryavanshi" might be coming to its end but it has shown the way to the rest of the films. It clearly refused to die down when challenges were thrown to it. This film has booked its name in history which will tell the tale of the films that revived the film industry during the health crisis. ## Worldwide, "Sooryavasnhi" has grossed a little over Rs. 292 crores. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana's Content Driven 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui' Hits A Fair Weekend

Mumbai, December 13 - Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor-starrer "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" has had a fairly healthy opening weekend at the box office. ## "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" has had a decent start on Friday with the opening day collection of Rs. 3.75 crores. However, as it often happens with Ayushmann's film, the movie grew over the weekend, thanks to the strong word of mouth from critics and audiences. ## It jumped by 29.87% (biggest 2nd-day jump during covid-19 for a Hindi movie) for Rs. 4.87 crores on Saturday and then, another 21.36% jump on Sunday for Rs. 5.91 crores to finish the opening weekend Rs. 14.53 crores India net. The movie is heading towards Rs. 23-24 crores in the first week.## Released over 2500 screens in India, "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" dominates metro multiplexes, Delhi, NCR, and Chandigarh while it also witnesses growth in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Overseas, the Abhishek Kapoor-directed has so far grossed approx Rs. 2.85 crores. It released over 500 screens outside India. ## Ayushmann Khurrana has once again hit the ball out of the park by picking up another hard-hitting content-driven out-of-box script, but it is Vaani Kapoor, who is equally getting praised for putting a strong performance. Not only the director but also the next movies of the main stars associated with that film expect the audience to be better than the previous film. ## I have written these lines because the film that we will talk about today had similar expectations from the audience to the distributors. Today we will talk About the film "Shaan", produced by P. Sippy and directed by his son Ramesh Sippy, released on 12 December 1980. ## Everyone knows that "Sholay" was directed by Ramesh Sippy. Perhaps no cinema lover would be unaware of the box office records of "Sholay". This film proved to be a milestone in the Hindi film industry. The film set such records that an era is counted in the Hindi film industry as a pre-Sholay and a post-Sholay era. ## "Sholay" was also a big-budget film and was made in around 3 crores. Yes, G. P. The second-week collections were 89% in Mumbai and 78% in the third week. This film was made on Sholay's double budget of about 6 crores. Due to the bumper success of Sippy's previous film Sholay, the All India Rights of this film was bought by the distributors for about 10.75 crores. Ultimately the distributors suffered a loss of about 3 crores. ## The film was re-released in digital print in April 2005 by Sippy to mark its 25th anniversary. Overall, the film earned a net of around 4.25 crores in India. The gross of the film was eight and a half crores and it was the fifth highest-grossing movie of that year. Rumour: Hindi Remake Of NBK's 'Akhanda' To Be Led By Either Akshay Kumar Or Ajay Devgn!

Mumbai, December 11 - Bollywood has always been quick to grab remake rights of the audience-appealing, South Indian films, and it seems that Nandamuri Balakrishna's latest box office blockbuster, "Akhanda" is the latest in the list that has caught the attention of Bollywood filmmakers.## The third collaboration of NBK and director Boyapti Srinu opened a roaring response at the box office, receiving positive reviews from critics. The movie got NBk's career back on track as the actioner is heading towards Rs. 100 crores worldwide gross. ## Since "Akhanda" caught the attention of every type of audience, several Bollywood producers are reportedly showing interest in grabbing the Hindi remake rights. The rumours are rife that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is looking to remake the film in Hindi and he has reportedly considered either Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn to replace NBK.## Though the conversation about the Hindi remake with Akshay and Ajay is still in its initial stage, and one is likely to receive clarity on the same in the coming days. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar recently completed the shoot of "Mission Cinderella", which is the remake of the Tamil movie "Ratsasan". Ajay Devgn also has a "Kaithi" remake in the pipeline. Mumbai, Dec 11, 2021: Today is the birth anniversary of one of the greatest legends the Hindi film industry had ever produced - Dilip Kumar. ## Dilip Kumar started his tinsel town journey in 1944 with Jwar Bhata but his first major success came in 1947 when Jugnu opposite Noor Jehan did excellent business and emerged as the biggest grosser of the year. The success of Jugnu made Dilip Kumar a star. ## Due to the sudden death of the then Box office God - K.L. Sehgal, Dilip Kumar become the Top star in just two years with 2 Back to Back HGOTY - Jugnu (1947) & Shaheed (1948), and from there on this phenomenal star never turned back. It was one horse race till 1961 and this period was filled by Historic Grossers like Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Naya Daur (1957), and the Biggest of them all Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Ganga Jamuna (1961). ## Dilip Kumar with Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand formed the 1st Golden troika of Bollywood (The khans came many letters) and it is the former who gave competition to Dilip Kumar. Raj Kapoor literally eclipsed Dilip Kumar in the year 1949 with two back-to-back Bombastic Blockbusters - Andaz and Barsaat. ## Awara in 1951 emerged as the Biggest industry grosser and the competition just heated up on the professional front. But the consistency was missing from the filmography of Raj Kapoor and it was the consistency that made Dilip Kumar bigger than the rest. On the other hand, Dev Anand was going good with hits but huge all-India Blockbusters were missing from his repertoire. ## Dilip Kumar made an astonishing comeback in his 2nd innings and it could be said that no actor was as big as Dilip Kumar comparing only 2nd innings. Dilip Kumar gave some of the Biggest Blockbusters of the 80s Decade in the form of Kranti (1981) which become the highest-grossing film of the year. ## It was followed by Vidhata which was also huge in scale and become HGOTY. Karma (1986) was centered around the thespian and again he gave the highest-grossing film of the year. ## As an Actor and with regards to acting skills Dilip Kumar is the greatest among them all. One of the greatest legends of the industry and people's Superstar Dharmendra celebrated his 86th Birthday yesterday. ## Dharmendra started his tinsel town journey in 1960 with a film called 'Dil Bhi Tera hum Bhi Tere' and it was a few films struggle till he shot to fame in the middle 60s. Though there were many successful films earlier as well like 'Shola Aur Shabnam' and 'Anpadh', but with a Blockbuster film with the then reigning superstar Rajendra Kumar - Aayi Milan ki Bela changed the fortunes of Dharmendra and catapulted him into a big league of known & dependable stars. But with a Mega Blockbuster Phool Aur Patthar preceding to a superhit Kaajal, pushed Dharmendra ahead than any other star, and industry & trade were banking on him to be the number1 star until there is tsunami called 'Rajesh Khanna' arrived. ## Rajesh Khanna had seen the type of craze & euphoria which was never seen before or after and this craze also converted in numbers when Khanna gave over 15 consecutive successful films with many films doing historic business such as Aradhana, Do Raaste, and Haathi Mera Saathi. Khanna literally wiped out all-stars of the industry and was a reason for the retirement of many stars like Rajendra Kumar, Dilip Kumar, and Dev Anand but Dharmendra was the only star who survived the Khanna storm and it was him who shocked the entire industry when he pushed the legendary superstar Rajesh Khanna to Number2 in 1973 with 7 HIT films including 2 Blockbusters. Zanjeer was released at the same time when Dharmendra was the Topmost star of the nation and was his rejected film which made Amitabh Bachchan a star. ## But Amitabh's journey to dethrone Dharmendra began in 1975 when universal Blockbuster and hugely acclaimed Bachchan film Deewar were released. It was a type of film which makes stars into Superstars. 6 months later, both Dharmendra and Amitabh starred together in the film which re-wrote the Box office history like no other film - Sholay and Dharmendra who was enjoying their superstar days were credited the most in Sholay initially. ## Amitabh was proving a huge competition for Dharmendra with each passing year but Dharmendra was constantly giving hits, superhits, and Blockbusters. It was 1978 when Amitabh actually went ahead of Dharmendra as he delivered 3 Blockbusters in MKS, Trishul, and Don and pretty much ended the reign of Dharmendra as a superstar. ## Dharmendra's run from 1966 to 1980 remains the most successful phase of any star in history as this phase had witnessed around 50 Hits and 75 successful films combined with mega Blockbusters like Phool Aur Patthar, Aankhen, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Sholay, Pratigya, and Dharam Veer. ## Dharmendra also has the record of most hits in a year, a decade, or in a generation or all time.
