Akshay Kumar To Headline Ajay Devgn's Next Directorial

Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who made his directorial debut in 2008 with U Me Aur Hum, has announced his 5th directorial venture which will be headlined by none other than Akshay Kumar. The project was officially confirmed Hindustan Times Summit on Saturday. ## The yet-untitled project is currently in the scripting stage. It is also not clear whether Ajay Devgn will act alongside Akshay just like his previous four directorial features. The shooting details are also under wraps for now. ## Ajay Devgn, the director is known for his technical brilliance and his film with Akshay is keenly awaited. Shahid Kapoor's 'Ashwatthama' Shelved?

Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was roped in to headline Pooja Entertainment's mega-budgeted epic Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Kannada director Sachin B. Ravi of Avane Srimannarayana fame was on board to direct the film. ## Since the announcement, the film, however, has faced delays and challenges and now, according to the report by Mid-Day, the project has been put on hold indefinitely due to budgetary constraints. It is said that the movie was planned to be made for 500 crores but it was escalating as pre-production advanced. ## The report quoted an insider saying that the project's scale was enormous and was supposed to be shot across multiple countries. However, after they started working on it, the makers felt it was a massive challenge to make it within the planned budget.## Pooja Entertainment, on the other hand, has reportedly been in a financial crisis with back-to-back major box office flops and considering all these things, the team led to a decision to pause production until these issues could be resolved.## Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on from this ambitious project and has started preparation for Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller film. Ajay Devgn's Action Adventure With Director Jagan Shakti Is A Book Adaptation; Shoot Details Revealed

Mumbai, November 15 - Ajay Devgn is teaming up with Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti for an action-adventure film. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Luv Ranjan who reunites with the actor after De De Pyaar De and its upcoming sequel.## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the yet-untitled film is a book adaptation. It is said that the movie is based on Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh's 2018 book, Ranger. Set against the backdrop of Bandhavgarh's sprawling wilderness, the book follows Ranger Singh, a rookie forest officer, stepping into a world rife with corruption, neglect, and an alarming tiger crisis.## Aseem Arora is adapting the book himself, however, the movie does not entirely adhere to the original material, as the makers are opting for an Indiana Jones-style narrative to make it more commercially appealing, as per Peepingmoon.com. ## Director Jagan Shakti intends to mount the movie on a massive scale with a promise to deliver a top-notch cinematic experience for the audience. Box Office: 'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' Collect Over 100 Crore Net Combined In The Second Week

Mumbai, November 14 - The Diwali weekend Bollywood releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are battling it out to finish on top as they completed two weeks at the box office where the latter might edge past the Rohit Shetty's directorial.## After scoring over 300 crores net collection (331 crores) in the first week, both the films witnessed a collective drop of around 65% in the second one for a combined approximately 106 crores net. BB3, which legged behind by approximately 15 crores net to Singham Again after the 1st week, has reduced that gap to just 4 after the following week. ## The Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy has minted approximately 58 crores net in the second week, pushing the total collection to around 217 crores after 14 days. Mumbai, November 13 - Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy emerged as a big box office hit and became the 4th Bollywood film of 2024 to cross 200 crores net collection. The movie achieved this milestone on its second Monday (11th day). ## Directed by Anees Bazmee, BB3 scored 204 crores net until the second Monday which made it the 37th Bollywood movie and 41st film ever in Hindi to breach the 200 crores net mark. It has become the first movie of the actor to breach the milestone. ## According to the early estimates, the Anees Bazmee's directorial movie scored an estimated 5-5.50 crores net collection on its second Monday (11th day), dropping around 70% from the first Monday. This pushes the total cume to around 204 crores net which is fantastic. ## The second full week of BB3 is probably heading for around 55+ crores net which will take its total collection to around 213+ crores net before Suriya's Kanguva arrives on November 14 which is expected to get a good number of screens. The final call is expected to be made in the next couple of weeks. ## The Christmas 2024 weekend has some competition as a couple of biggies scheduled to be released at the Hindi box office in the form of the Hollywood title Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20) and Varun Dhawan's hugely-awaited Baby John (December 25) in addition to Pushpa 2 which can have a long run at the box office. ## For Sankranti 2025, there is currently superstar Ram Charan's Game Changer scheduled to release on January 10 in multiple languages, including Hindi in which the movie is expected to do well. It will be interesting to see which slot makers choose to release Chhaava as both are lucrative festive slots for the box office. ## Chhava is a historical epic film based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. Mumbai, November 9 - Director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn has become the highest-grossing film in the franchise at the domestic as well as worldwide box office, beating the lifetime collection of Singham Returns in just 5 days. ## The latest instalment in the cop action drama scored 232 crores gross worldwide in the first 5 days which surpassed the total worldwide collection of Singham Returns' (Singham 2) 216 crores gross. Domestically, Singham 3 outgrossed Singham 2's 200 crores gross in a flat 7 days to become the biggest film in the franchise. ## Singham 3, which is 5th movie in Shetty's cop universe, is currently in the second weekend and has so far grossed approximately 275 crores worldwide, including 217 crores domestically (207.50+ crores net) in 8 days, through the second Friday. Box Office: 'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' Second Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, November 8 - Ajay Devgn's cop action drama Singham Again begins second weekend with a decent hold after the good first week collection of 173 crores net. ## The movie is witnessing a drop of around 10%-15% on its second Friday from Thursday for an estimated 7.50-8crores net collection, pushing total to over 180 crores net in 8 days. The second weekend is probably heading for 30 crores net. ## The drop in the second weekend is likely to be around 75% which is harsh but is expected given the mixed word of mouth and clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which is now turning into the first choice of the moviegoers. SA, however, will still do enough to cross 200 crores net by Sunday. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan kicks off the second weekend with a strong hold, dropping under 10% for an estimated 8.50-9 crores net collection on its 8th day/second Friday. This takes the total collection to around 167 crores net. ## The second weekend of BB3 is expected to be in the range of 32-33 crores net which is a drop fo around 65%. Box Office: 'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' Combined Deliver 500 Crore First Week Worldwide

Mumbai, November 8 - The 2 Bollywood Diwali tentpoles, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 have had a very good first week at the box office as both the films combined delivered 500 crores gross collection worldwide, making it one of the biggest for Bollywood films. ## Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham 3 scored the second biggest first week for a Bollywood movie of 2024. At the domestic box office, the movie minted approximately 207 crores gross (173 crores net) while the overseas collection is an estimated 53 crores for a worldwide cume of 260 crores approx. ## On a larger note, Singham Again proved to be the biggest first-week grosser for Ajay Devgn as well as for director Rohit Shetty. The movie received mixed talks and clashed with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and despite that, it faired well. It will be topping 300 crores worldwide in the second weekend. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, on the other hand, is easily the winner of the clash after the first week. After the fantastic weekend, the horror-comedy showed a better trend during the weekdays and ended the first week's collection with approximately 190 crores gross (158 crores net) in India and an estimated 50 crores overseas for the worldwide cume of 240 crores gross.## The combined total of both movies is approximately 500 crores worldwide, including a little under 400 crores gross (397 crores gross) domestically. OTT Platforms To Blame For Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Clash

Mumbai, November 8 - It was recently reported how the OTT platforms have been controlling the theatrical releases of Bollywood films by signing pre-contracts for the streaming release, and this practice has been admitted by producer Bhushan Kumar whose Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 made to clash with director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. ## The box office clash between BB3 and Singham Again didn't make sense as both films were hugely anticipated and were seen as potential blockbusters. While both movies are doing well at the box office, one must admit that their overall potential was cut short by the unwanted clash due to their streaming partners. ## Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that both parties attempted to avoid the clash as both franchises are highly valuable and hold significant audiences. However, despite the intention to not release the movies on the same day, Kumar admitted that contractual constraints with OTT platforms and creative factors made it unavoidable. ## "Nowadays, there are some constraints, like pre-commitments with OTT platforms. If you try to change those dates, the OTT platform doesn't allow it. That was our constraint, and they probably had similar ones", the filmmaker said. BB3 post-theatrical rights are with Netflix while Amazon Prime Video has Singham 3. ## Kumar, however, expressed satisfaction over the fact that both movies are performing well against the odds. "So it's okay as long as our film is getting so much love. And it has done enough business that the film is now safe", he added. ## Released during the lucrative Diwali weekend, Singham Again has scored a very good opening week of over 200 crores gross in India and over 250 crores worldwide.
