Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's two cult classics, romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho and reincarnation action drama Karan Arjun which also has superstar Salman Khan, got re-released recently but there seems to be not much interest for the letter. ## Karan Arjun (1995), directed by Rakesh Roshan, got one of the widest re-releases for a Bollywood movie, however, the anticipation seems isn't that much the makers hoped for as it is not getting much audience in theatres. ## The film grossed approximately 30 lakh on its opening day which is, even though among the top openings for a Bollywood re-release, is nowhere near the expected start considering the wide release. It is not showing much improvement on Saturday with collection expected to be in the same range as Friday. ## Meanwhile, Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which was re-launched on November 15, looks like will be winning the re-release race against Karan Arjun despite a much smaller release. After grossing approximately 2.40 crores in the first week, the film started the second weekend with around 20 lakh gross collection on the second Friday (8th day). ## The Nikkhil Advani's directorial has taken a lead over Karan Arjun on Saturday as it is expected to gross over 50 lakh. The second weekend of KHNH could be 1.25+ crores gross wherein Karan Arjun might end up with around 1 crore gross opening weekend despite having more than 4X showcasing daily. ## Both the aforementioned films were big hits in their original run but it is KHNH which continues to attract the moviegoers ever after two decades. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 14 - Amid the juggernaut of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2, this Independence Day weekend will see Akshay Kumar-fronted Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa will fight it out to come second at the box office. ## Akshay returns to his forte comedy genre in which he has scored many successes but all are not the same this time. The actor is coming after a series of unsuccessful films and to turn the tide, he will have hope for a change in fortune and hope the film turns out to be a really good one. ## As said, the opening of Khel Khel Mein is expected to be low considering the pre-sales which are better than Akshay's last film Sarfira but overall remains low. As of 8 PM on August 14, the movie has sold approximately 29K tickets with approx. 1 crore gross for the opening day.## The final opening day pre-sales of the movie are expected to be in the range of 1.50 crores gross which indicates the opening in the range of 4-5 crores net. The Independence Day holiday will provide some boost but that is unlikely to make much difference to the overall opening. ## Vedaa reunites John Abraham with director Nikkhil Advani since Batla House (2019) which was also released on August 15. While Batla House scored a very good opening of 15+ crores net 5 years ago, things are a lot different this time around. ## The pre-sales of Vedaa are almost similar to Khel Khel Mein though it has sold more tickets (39K as of 8 PM) so far. The movie's opening is expected to be in the same range as Akshay-starrer, however, the action genre might attract more footfalls in mass centres which can boost the collection a little more. ## There is a long holiday period coming up, but Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa will need a unanimously positive reception from the audience to make the most of it, unlike Stree 2 which will open, at least, 3X of the combined total of the other two movies. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 9 - Bollywood star John Abraham and actress Sharvari Wagh are gearing up for the release of their action drama Vedaa which reunites John with director Nikkhil Advani after Batla House. It is produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment. ## Vedaa, which is said to be inspired by true events, is a story of bravery, of the power of one. It is the story of an uprising, of challenging a draconian system. It is the story of a young woman who fought back, steered and championed by the one. ## The film is scheduled to be released on August 15. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed the movie with a 'U/A' certificate without any major cut and the approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes).## As reported previously, the CBFC team was impressed and could relate to what the makers are trying to address through the film which deals with an important issue. Mumbai, July 29 - A couple of days back, the makers of John Abraham-fronted upcoming action drama Vedaa issued a statement stating that the censorship of the movie was facing delay due to some reasons as the team putting all the efforts to make it ready for August 15 release.## While there is no official word on further development yet, the latest reports have confirmed that Vedaa has been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it has received a 'U/A' certificate without any cuts, as per Pinkvilla.
