Mumbai, July 16, 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the group for the forthcoming Men's T20 World Cup 2021, to be hosted by the BCCI in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from 17 October to 14 November. ## Hosts India has been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12s stage with arch-rivels Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifier teams. England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, and two more qualifier teams will form Group 1 for the tournament. India, Pakistan in the same group means both teams will face-off for the first time in more than two years, their last fixture having come in the 2019 50-over World Cup.## The ICC announced the make-up of the groups - both for the first round and for the Super 12s stage - for the big-ticket tournament, which will be the first multi-team, a global event organized by the ICC since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic early last year. However, the schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced. ## Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will have to go through the qualifying tournament. Sri Lanka has been placed in Group A with Ireland, Netherlands, and Namibia while Bangladesh will face Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman in Group B. On 28th February 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan said that as a peace gesture, we are releasing wing commander Abhinandan tomorrow on 1st March 2019. ## Pakstan captured Indian Pilot on 27th February 2019. ## Imran Khan announced this in Pakistan Parliament. ## Addressing the joint session of Parliament, Imran Khan, however, said our de-escalation efforts should not be seen a weak gesture. India not to escalate the situation. He said he has some "reasonably decent" news with the US involved in trying to help reduce tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. ## Trump said the US has some "reasonably attractive news" from Pakistan and India in his opening statement at a press conference at the end of his second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the Vietnamese capital. We have been involved in trying to help them (India and Pakistan) stop and we have some reasonably decent news. ## Earlier in the day, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is ready to talk to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi over the telephone to offer him peace. ## Qureshi told Geo News that if India gives priority to peace, Pakistan is ready for peace. ## Prime Minister Imran Khan is ready to talk to Narendra Modi on the telephone and ready to extend an invitation of peace. On 27th February 2019, Pakistan has released a video claiming that it is of an Indian pilot named Abhinandan Varthaman and he is treated well there. ## The Ministry of External Affairs slammed Pakistan over videos and photographs of an Indian pilot Pakistan says is in its custody. The MEA did not identify the person in question. However, the MEA was likely referring to the Indian fighter pilot whose MiG-21 was shot down earlier this morning. ## MEA: Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan was summoned this afternoon by MEA to lodge a strong protest at the unprovoked act of aggression by Pakistan against India earlier today, including violation of the Indian air space by Pakistan Air Force & targeting of Indian military posts. ## MEA: It is unfortunate that instead of fulfilling its international obligation & bilateral commitment to take credible action against terrorist entities and individuals operating from its soil, Pakistan has acted with aggression against India. ## IAF: Today, one Mi-17 V5 helicopter got airborne from Srinagar airfield at 1000 hrs for a routine mission. It crashed around 1010 hrs near Budgam, J&K. All six air warriors on board helicopter suffered fatal injuries. A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident. ## MEA: India also strongly objected to Pakistan’s vulgar display of injured personnel of the Indian Air Force in violation of all norms of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention. ## MEA: It was made clear that Pakistan would be well advised to ensure that no harm comes to the Indian defense personnel in its custody. "I am Wing Commander Abhinandan," the man says before revealing his service number and religion. ## Another video soon started doing the rounds on Twitter. In this video Wing, Commander Abhinandan is seen sitting on a cot inside a room, sipping from a mug. He is being questioned by someone he identifies as a "major". ## In the second video, Wing Commander Abhinandan says, "The officers of the Pakistan Army have looked after me very well. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will face each other in the opening match on September 15 as the schedule of Asia Cup 2018 have been announced on Tuesday, July 24. The six-team tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates.## The teams are divided into two groups. In group A, Afghanistan is paired with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and in group B, the defending champions India is paired with Pakistan and winner of the qualifiers.## India will play their opening match against the qualifier on September 18 before a much-awaiting clash against Arch-rivals Pakistan on very next day.## As per the new guidelines, the tournament will be played in the ODI format with the 50-over World Cup scheduled to be held next year. The previous tournament in Bangladesh in 2016 was played in the T20 format ahead of the T20 WC.## One team that will finish at the bottom of each group will be eliminated while rest of the teams will be playing against each other in the Super 4 stage. In cricket, new records are created on every day, but who had thought till eight years ago that a double century is also possible in a one-day game. Well it happened, on February 24, 2010, the great Sachin Tendulkar scored the first ever double-century (Men's category) in 50-overs format against South Africa at Captain Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior, India. Since then only five players on seven occasions could score 200 or plus runs in an ODI match.## Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman is the newest member to be included in 200-club. He touched this rare feat against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
