Mumbai, May 22 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's highly-awaited Pan India movie Spirit with superstar Prabhas, seems to have a major casting shift after Deepika Padukone reportedly exited the film for some reason. ## It is said that Deepika was officially on board to play the female lead role, but has now been dropped from the film. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, SRV got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than 6 hours a day for Spirit. ## Apart from the shooting hours, Deepika, through her agency, reportedly demanded an amendment to the contract. Their point of contention was simple - if the shoot extends beyond 100 days, Deepika will have to be paid extra for every single day of the shoot beyond the commitment on paper. ## The report further states that director Vanga, along with the producers, tried their best to sort out the issues, but the actress refused to bow down, eventually leading Vanga to drop the Kalki actress from the movie. He is now looking to recast for the part. ## Interestingly, Deepika had earlier turned down the offer as the shooting timelines did not match due to her pregnancy. However, due to a delay in the shoot, SRV approached her again, and this time, she agreed to come on board, before she was dropped again. ## The film is produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures. Mumbai, May 21 - Director Om Raut has finally announced his next film after the hugely disappointing Adipurush (2023). He has teamed up with Tamil star Dhanush for the biopic of former President of India, A. P. J. Mumbai, May 21 - The first teaser of Yash Raj Films' highly anticipated spy action thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, has received a thunderous response across social media platforms, with mostly positive talk around it. The teaser was launched on May 20, on the occasion of Jr. NTR's birthday. ## Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the teaser scored a huge 70+ million views on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook in the first 24 hours. On TY alone, the blockbuster promo scored 25+ million views, including 20+ million views in the Hindi version. ## The talk around the teaser is mostly positive, with the main criticism being for VFX, which looked subpar. However, the social media users are praising Hrithik and NTR, who have been pitched against each other in this high-octane actioner, which is the 6th film in the YRF Spy Universe. ## War 2 marks Jr. NTR's Bollywood debut, and trade believes that his casting can prove to be a game-changer. Mumbai, May 21 - After months of preparations, the shoot of superstar Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action thriller King has commenced on May 21 in Mumbai. As per the reports, Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma have started shooting for the film in Mehboob Studio, and the rest of the cast will join them soon. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is easily among the most anticipated Indian movies. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast, which also includes Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat, in prominent roles. ## According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, King Khan and director Siddharth Anand are looking to release the film on October 2, 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti next year. Chennai, May 21 - The blockbuster and the legendary duo of actor Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam have teamed up for the first time since their last collaboration, Nayakan (1987), for the gangster action drama film Thug Life. ## Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, Thug Life is one of the most anticipated Tamil movies of the year, and the makers are treating it with utmost care. Also starring Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan in prominent roles along with others, the film is scheduled to hit the big screen on June 5 in multiple languages. ## Normally, Tamil films arrive on digital platforms after just 4 weeks of theatrical run, but Thug Life is set to break this norm. According to the reports, the film will be made available on OTT only after 8 weeks of the theatrical release in all languages. ## Kamal Haasan himself confirmed the development at the Mumbai press conference, and he hopes that other filmmakers will follow this process. While the fans were excited for the movie, veteran actor Paresh Rawal, who has been a big part of the franchise, shocked everyone by announcing his exit from the upcoming movie. ## It was reported that Rawal exited Hera Pheri 3 due to creative differences; however, he later clarified that his decision to exit the film is for some other reasons. It is said that the paperwork for the film was done, hence, Rawal's action came as a massive shock to the team. ## Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the producers of Hera Pheri 3 – Cape of Good Films have sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal claiming damages worth Rs 25 crore, for the amount invested in the film, that is now lost due to his unprofessional behaviour.## As per the report, "Cape of Good Films had procured the rights of Hera Pheri 3 from multiple stakeholders, and even repaid all the debts existing on the film. Paresh Rawal's unprofessional behaviour has cost a bomb to the film". ## "All the amounts invested by Cape of Good Films, to make a debt-free product, were done only after the OG trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty had agreed to be a part of the third Hera Pheri film. In fact, Hera Pheri 3 also went on floors as the team reunited to shoot for an extremely funny announcement video", the report further stated.## The makers have decided to consider Rawal's decision as unprofessional and uncalled for, and sent him a legal notice, demanding 25 crore to pay for the losses they have suffered due to his action. The series has two films so far, which emerged as big hits at the box office while delivering important messages. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar and director Amit Rai have already started working on OMG 3. It is said that Rai had accompanied Akshay Kumar to Kerala for the last leg of Bhooth Bagla to discuss the third instalment of OMG. ## As per the report, Amit Rai has multiple ideas for the upcoming film, and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. "The duo brainstormed on all the ideas and also discussed possible new routes that could be taken in OMG 3. Mumbai, May 19 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-fronted Raid 2 has topped 200 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming only the second Hindi movie of the year to achieve the feat after Vicky Kaushal-fronted Chhaava. ## Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the crime drama thriller has grossed approximately 201.50 crores worldwide, including around 177.50 crores in India and 24 crores overseas in 18 days. The film has performed better than expected to emerge as a clean box office hit. ## Raid 2 is the 8th movie of Ajay Devgn to top 200 crores globally, and the first since Singham Again in November 2024. It had already surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross collection of the first movie, Raid, which minted approximately 154 crores gross collection. Overall, Raid 2 is the 6th Indian movie of 2025 to go past 200 crore worldwide. ## Produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 is a sequel to Raid (2018). Kochi, May 19 - Superstar Mohanlal's mega blockbuster Thudarum continues to rewrite history for Malayalam cinema with the record-breaking box office run. It is a back-to-back blockbuster for Lalettan after Empuraan, which is the sequel to Lucifer (2019). ## Thudarum has stunned the Mollywood trade and become the first film to top 100 crores gross collection in Kerala state. Now, it has created a major milestone for the industry, selling the highest number of tickets on the online ticketing platform, BookMyShow. ## Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film has sold approximately 4.35 million tickets (43.5 lakh) on the platform so far, surpassing Manjummel Boys, which sold approximately 42 lakh tickets in its lifetime run on BMS. Overall, Thudarum has sold approximately 80 lakh tickets, including online and offline. ## At the box office, the drama thriller has grossed approximately 223 crores worldwide, including 131.50 crores gross at the Indian box office in 24 days so far. Pictures' supernatural horror thriller film Final Destination Bloodlines surprises at the Indian box office to score one of the biggest opening weekends for the genre with $3+ million in 4 days. ## The sixth instalment in the Final Destination film series, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, had a mid-week release in India on Thursday. Despite that, the film took a very good opening of $625K (5.35 crores gross), followed by growth on Friday. ## Overall, the film grossed approximately 26 crores ($3 million) in India over the 4-day weekend. With this, it has already become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood horror thriller films in India.
