Hyderabad, January 2 - One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, lady superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Shaakuntalam finally gets its release date after multiple delays. ## Directed by Gunasekhar, "Shaakuntalam" is a mythological love story drama film. It is made on a huge scale as one of the epic love stories ever in Indian cinema. Based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film narrates the love tale of Shakuntala and her husband Dushyanta. ## Samantha Ruth Prabha plays the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha also makes her acting debut with this film. ## On January 2, Monday, Samantha took to Twitter and announced with a new poster that the movie will be hitting theaters worldwide on February 17, 2023, also in 3D. Hyderabad, November 8 - Vijay Deverakonda's recently released sports action drama film Liger was bombed at the box office and turned out to be the biggest disaster of his career. However, despite the moral killing failure, distributors' confidence in the actor hasn't dropped as his next film Kushi is in red hot demand. ## Directed by Shiva Nirvana, "Kushi" is a romantic comedy film that also stars lady superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead role. The first-time combo of VD and Samantha is doing wonders for the makers as the non-theatrical and overseas rights of the film have fetched fancy deals for them. ## According to the latest Telugu media reports, the digital, satellite, music, and overseas rights of "Kushi" have been sold for approx. 90 crores. Phars Films, which has been a regular collaborator of South Indian films, has grabbed overseas theatrical rights at a handsome price. ## "Kushi" is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and it also stars Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Murali Sharma, and others in key roles. It was announced to release on December 23 this year but has been postponed due to the delay in the shoot. Samantha's US trip was subjected to a lot of baseless rumors about her health condition, which is not true as reports say that has gone there to prep for "Citadel".## "Samantha has been working on getting into her character for Citadel in the US. Mumbai, September 15 - South Indian sensation, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to headline her maiden Bollywood movie and will star alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. The movie will be produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films, the official announcement, however, is due but expected to be made soon. ## Now, according to peepingmoon.com, the movie will be a horror comedy in Vijan's proposed Horror-Comedy Cinematic Universe. Samantha will reportedly play the role of princess opposite Ayushmann, who will play a vampire in the film, which is said to be a unique, intriguing horror story that has an ample dose of humor and suspense. ## The report further said that the upcoming movie will be directed by Amar Kaushik from the script written by his regular collaborator, Niren Bhatt. Kaushik previously directed Maddock's "Stree", which was the first film in the studio's horror-comedy universe, and the upcoming "Bhediya". ## The shoot of Ayushmann and Samantha's film will kickstart next year. Now, according to the latest development, the actress has been in talk to star in director Aditya Dhar's ambitious film, "The Immortal Ashwatthama". ## "The Immortal Ashwatthama" was announced in January last year with Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. However, due to financial issues, the movie could go on floors and was pushed indefinitely. It was to be produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the RSVP Movies production banner, but he has reportedly backed out from this magnum opus. ## The sci-fi epic is finally back on track with new producers. Aditya Dhar and the team are reportedly in advanced talks with Samantha to play the leading lady with Vicky headlining the title role. "Aditya has been working on to fine-tune the script of The Immortal Ashwatthama for a while now and is all gearing up to take it on floors in 2023", according to Pinkvilla. ## "The casting is underway, and the filmmaker has finally aligned his vision with the financials that his studio partner has approved.
