BY SUNIT JANGIR
Mumbai, June 30 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has finally managed to score a success in nearly a decade, with his latest comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par. This is the actor's first successful film since sports drama "Dangal" (2016) as a lead hero. ## Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par had a good second weekend at the domestic box office, scoring approximately 33.50 crores net (40 crores gross), pushing total domestic cume to around 122 crores net (147 crores gross). The drop from the opening weekend (58+ crores net) is around 40%, which can be called a superb hold. ## The movie is going from strength to strength as the movie jumped solidly over the second weekend, despite the competition with new movies. This suggests that the movie has found acceptance among the movie-going audience, which should lead it to a strong finish at the Indian box office. ## While SZP is doing very well domestically, it is also seeing good business at the overseas box office, with an estimated gross of around 50 crores in 10 days so far. The worldwide cume total of the movie is around 198 crores gross, and it will be topping the 200 crores mark on its 11th day. ## Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, SZP is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film "Champions". It follows a suspended basketball coach who must serve community service by helping a team of players with disabilities prepare for a tournament. Genelia D'Souza plays the female lead role. ## Stay tuned...
