Kochi, June 23 - After the official announcement, director Jeethu Joseph has dropped a major update regarding Drishyam 3. There have been speculations that the Hindi version of this crime suspense thriller will be different, unlike the first two movies, which were remakes of the original Malayalam films. ## During a recent conversation with the Times of India, director Jeethu Joseph, who directed the first two Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 and will return for the third instalment, said that the script of the upcoming film is nearing completion and contrary to the rumours, he confirmed the plot will be same in all versions. ## "There have been reports that the Hindi version will have a different story, but that's not true. The Hindi film will also be based on my story. Once I complete my script, it will be shared with the Hindi team, who will then adapt it to suit their setting and make suitable cultural changes", the filmmaker said. ## Both Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 will start rolling in October this year. There were rumours that the Malayalam movie would be released before the Hindi, but Jeethu Joseph hinted that both versions may have a simultaneous release. ## "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release. So, we have been discussing the prospect of releasing the films simultaneously. In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film's impact in other languages", he added. ## It is confirmed that Drishyam 3 Hindi will be directed by Abhishek Pathak and will see Ajay Devgn and the rest of the cast reprising their roles. Mumbai, June 23 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par, which unsurprisingly had low buzz before the release, has surprised the trade big time with its opening weekend business. The weekend biz of the movie is a classic case of the unpredictability of the box office, which can turn the tide either way of expectations. ## SZP, directed by RS Prasanna, scored the opening of a little over 10 crores net, something which would have been considered a disaster start for an Aamir Khan-starrer before the COVID-19 pandemic, but not in the present time, when big openings are no longer guaranteed, even for a superstar's film. ## It was still the lowest opening for Aamir Khan since Ghajini (10.20 crores net), but it can be called decent given the fact that there weren't high expectations from it, as trade was expecting below the double-digit start. However, what followed next is history, which has taken everyone by surprise. ## The film scored almost 100% growth on Saturday, which is the biggest second-day jump for an Indian title, which opened with double-digit numbers. It scored another solid growth on Sunday to clock in around 58-60 crores net opening weekend, which is the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie, which scored the opening of 10-11 crores net. ## SZP did decently in international markets during the opening weekend, scoring around 27 crores gross, for a worldwide cume total of around 96 crores gross. Mumbai, June 22 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par scored a good opening weekend after another big jump on Sunday at the domestic box office. The film witnessed almost 200% growth from Friday to Sunday, which is excellent. ## According to early estimates, R.S. Prasanna's directorial venture scored in the range of 28-30 crores net on its third day, pushing the total domestic opening weekend to around 60 crores. The movie really turned the tide after the low opening with massive growth on Saturday and Sunday, as the weekend, which looked like it might finish in the 40s, has come up much higher. ## The opening weekend trend of the movie has stunned the trade, first with the opening and then with what followed next. It is the first instance that a movie, which opened to around 10.50 crores net, went on to score 60 crores weekend, and this is a big positive sign for the film going forward. ## The things now rest on Monday, which has become a crucial factor for a film's success in recent times. Mumbai, June 21 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par goes overdrive on the second day and scores an almost perfect 100% growth after the double-digit opening day. This is the biggest second-day jump for a Bollywood movie with a double-digit start. ## According to early estimates, the film has scored in the range of 21-22+ crores net on Saturday, which takes its total collection to around 32 crores net in 2 days. The opening weekend, which looked like it might finish in the mid-40s, is now aiming for 55 crores net or might be even higher as pre-sales for Sunday are excellent. ## The huge second-day growth has made up for most of the lost ground of the opening day, which saw a decent start, but it couldn't be called good, given the fact that Aamir's film used to take much bigger openings in the past. However, the openings, even for a superstar movie, haven't been the same post the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for non-mass movies, so considering that, SZP's weekend can be called decent to good. ## The success of the movie will depend on how strong the hold will be on Monday, which has become a crucial factor for all the movies with low openings. Mumbai, June 21 - Ajay Devgn has been among the most successful Bollywood actors in recent times, and his upcoming line-up promises to take things a notch higher for him. The actor has nearly half a dozen films in the pipeline, and one of the hugely anticipated ones is Drishyam 3. ## Drishyam is among the most successful film franchises of Indian cinema with immense repeat value. The third instalment of it was recently confirmed for October 2, 2026, release. According to the report by Pinkvilla, the movie will start its shooting journey exactly a year before its theatrical debut. ## "The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise (those who have watched would know why), and hence, the makers are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025", says the report. ## Ajay Devgn has already reportedly allotted his dates for Drishyam 3, which will be shot at real locations of Maharashtra, as well as the studio set up during a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months. The script of the film is already locked, and the makers are working on the dialogue draft at the moment. ## The entire cast of the franchise, along with director Abhishek Pathak, will return for the third instalment. The report further states that it's not clear if Drishyam 3 is a remake of the Malayalam film or an original script, as the makers were also working on an original draft at some point in time. Hyderabad, June 21 - Tamil star Dhanush returns to Telugu cinema with director Sekhar Kammula's action thriller Kuberaa, after scoring a blockbuster with his debut Telugu film in the form of Vaathi/SIR (2023). The movie also stars Telugu veteran Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh in prominent roles. ## Kuberaa has been making noise for the last couple of weeks after the release of the teaser and trailer, which perfectly set the tone for the movie to score a big opening. Although the advances for the movie were not as big as the trade had thought, for some reason, the movie opened to an excellent collection all over. ## Kuberaa has taken the biggest opening for Dhanush with a worldwide collection coming in the range of 27 crores gross. The previous biggest opener for the actor was Raayan, which grossed around 23 crores. It is also Nagarjuna's biggest grosser. ## In India, Kuberaa has grossed in the range of 17 crores, while overseas collection is estimated to be around 10 crores for the opening. Hyderabad, June 21 - Superstar Pawan Kalyan's long-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been rescheduled to a July release after getting postponed from June. The film is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A M Jothi Krisna. ## On Saturday (June 21), the makers took to social media and announced that the much-awaited blockbuster will be hitting the worldwide theatres on July 24 this year in the original Telugu language along with the dubbed versions of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. ## Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which has been in the making for nearly 5 years, was initially announced for worldwide release on 14 January 2022, coinciding with Sankranti. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to April 2022, but it again couldn't make it to that date and was postponed indefinitely. ## The movie kept delaying due to Pawan Kalyan's tight schedule, but it was finally scheduled for a 28 March 2025 release, but was postponed again as many portions of the shoot were incomplete. It was confirmed for a June 12 release, and it looked like the movie would finally see the light of day. But as had been the case throughout its journey, it got delayed again and will now hit the big screen on July 24 (if there is no further postponement). ## HHVM is produced by Mega Surya Production, and it stars Pawan Kalyan in the titular role of outlaw Veera Mallu alongside Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb, and Nidhhi Agerwal, among others. ## One fights for Power. Mumbai, June 20 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par has taken a decent start at the domestic box office. The film picked up well towards the evening and night shows, and managed to cross the double-digit mark by a decent margin. ## According to early estimates, SZP has scored in the range of 11-12 crores net collection. It was also released in Telugu and Tamil, in which, it has earned around 15-20 lakh collection. The trade was expecting an 8-9 crores opening, so considering that, it is a decent start. ## The opening of Sitaare Zameen Par is almost in the same range as Aamir's last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which scored around 11.75 crores net in all versions. Another similarity between both films is that their genre are the same, and both performed best in urban centres. ## The audience word of mouth for SZP is on the positive side, and the advances for the weekend are much better, which indicates solid growth on Saturday and Sunday. Mumbai, June 20 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's romantic action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 is reportedly getting a solo release as Maddock Films' romantic comedy Param Sundari is set to be delayed, according to the report by Peepingmoon.com. ## There had been speculation about the postponement of Param Sundari for some time, but the makers recently announced that it would be released on July 25, on the same day SOS2 hits the big screen. But the Maddock has now decided to postpone Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's film. ## Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock believes that Param Sundari has a strong chance of succeeding at the box office, and he doesn’t want it to get lost in a crowded release schedule. Both SOS2 and Param Sundari are in the same genre, but the former has more face value due to star power and franchise. ## Vijan has strategically opted to reposition the film to ensure it receives the attention it deserves, both for its narrative and its music. While the new date hasn't been finalised yet, the makers are considering bringing Param Sundari in late August or September this year. ## Meanwhile, there is Marvel Studios' "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" also arriving on July 25, but it is unlikely to make much dent in Son of Sardaar 2, which is one of the movies with strong box office potential. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, June 20 - Director James Gunn's Superman is possibly looking to score the biggest opening for a solo Superman movie at the domestic box office after the superhero movie arrived on tracking three weeks before the release. ## Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Superman is the first movie under the new DC Studios, headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Directed by Gunn, the movie is hot in the trade with a record opening in sight. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is tracking to open in the $135 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. The projected figures are from the leading tracking service, the National Research Group, as per THR. ## NRG always provides a range in addition to a solo number; in this case, the range for Superman's domestic opening is $125 million to $145 million. Meanwhile, the insiders at DC Studios and Warner Bros. are not looking too far and are being more conservative in suggesting a $90 million to $125 million opening. ## The projection suggests Superman could emerge as one of the biggest DC openers of all time. It is still behind the $166 million domestic debut of 2016's "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice", but is ahead of or in the range of Zack Snyder's 2013 film "Man of Steel" ($116 million). ## Scheduled to release on July 11, the film explores Superman's journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his adoptive human family.
