This Tom Holland-fronted has been unstoppable since its debut in theaters in December last year. ## After becoming the 4th highest-grossing domestic (North America) film, "No Way Home" has now become the 6th all-time highest-grosser at the worldwide box office. The superhero movie was at number 8 till the last weekend and broke into the top six after passing "Jurassic World" ($1.67B) and "The Lion King" ($1.662B), through 6th Sunday with a $1.69 billion global cume. ## The Jon Watts-directed has so far grossed $970.1 million at the international box office and $721 million domestically. At the domestic box office, it is eyeing to finish at number 3 after its entire box office run. Meanwhile, it will become only the 6th film to gross $1 billion overseas by the end of next weekend, that too without a single penny from China, which is the biggest movie market in the world. ## The United Kingdom is leading "Spider-Man: No Way Home's" overseas run with $116.9 million, followed by Mexico with $73.4 million. In Mexico, "No Way Home" recently became the highest-grossing film of all time after crossing "Avengers: Endgame" there. ## The Top 10 international markets for "No Way Home" through 6th Sunday are as follows: the UK ($116.9M), Mexico ($73.4M), Korea ($60.6M), France ($59.9M), Australia ($53.2M), Brazil ($52.4M), Russia ($45.3M), Germany ($43M), India ($36M), and Spain ($28.9M).## According to Deadline, in IMAX, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has swung into the Top 10 of the format's all-time releases. The Marvel/ Sony film grossed an additional $175k in its second weekend of re-release and 17th overall, lifting its overall domestic cume to an estimated $213.5 million.## After its latest box office figure, "Venom 2" has matched the total cume of 2018's "Venom" movie at the domestic box office and will cross it anytime now. "Venom 2" was already the 3rd highest domestic grosser of the covid-19 pandemic era, and now, with crossing "Venom", it has achieved another milestone. Not to forget, "Venom" had released in a time when there was no covid. ## At the worldwide box office, "Venom 2" is only the 4th Hollywood title of the pandemic era to cross $500 million, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home", "James Bond - No Time To Die", and "Fast & Furious 9". Down by just 30% this weekend, "No Way Home", however, started slowing down after redefining the rules of the pandemic era box office at the domestic as well as the overseas. ## The superhero flick is expected to expand its domestic cumulative earnings to $721 million by Sunday. At present, "No Way Home" is the fourth highest-grossing film in the history of the domestic box office (North America). Analysts, meanwhile, are predicting that it may just topple "Avatar" from the third spot in the list of highest-grossing films in the history of the North American box office.## "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the highest-grossing title in North America with $936 million, followed by "Avengers: Endgame" ($858 million). The superhero movie is heading towards a $1 billion overseas box office, that too without a single penny from China. ## The Tom Holland-fronted film has so far grossed $926.3 million through 63 international markets and over $700 million domestically (North America), pushing global cume to $1.62 billion. It is currently the 8th highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office and will grab the 6th spot in the list by the end of next weekend.## Meanwhile, "No Way Home" has become the highest-grossing film of all time in Mexico with $72 million. In Brazil, it is the second highest-grossing film ever with $50.4 million, so in Central America ($12.6M) and Ecuador ($7.9M).## In North America, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" becomes the 4th highest-grossing film ever. After the end of the 5th weekend, it was the 5th biggest-grosser there with $698.7 million and became 4th biggest on Monday by crossing Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" ($700.06 million). ## The Jon Watts-directed is likely to finish with $1.75 billion globally. Chennai, January 15 - Tamil star SivaKarthikeyan is in red hot form with the blockbuster success of "Doctor". The supremely talented actor has announced his maiden collaboration with superstar Kamal Haasan's production house Raj Films and Sony Pictures Films India for a Tamil film. ## The yet-untitled film will be written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. While the details about the plot are kept under wraps, the announcement poster has made fans speculate that the film will be a period drama. Mumbai, January 8 - "Spider-Man" fans in India will have to wait for a longer period to watch "Spider-Man: No Way Home" on the digital platform after the theatrical window of this global blockbuster has been extended in the country. The Tom Holland-fronted, which has grossed over Rs. 260 crores in India so far, will continue to play exclusively in theaters for at least two more months. ## Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Films India says, "The fact that this is the biggest post-pandemic global hit indicates that the audiences are ready to return to theatres if the film in question offers them everything they are looking for. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' did exactly that".## He adds, "Even though the franchise already had an enviable fan base, the film exceeded everybody's expectations with a staggering star cast, scaled up, breathtaking action, and multiple twists that took the fans by complete surprise and took their breath away. Mumbai, January 4 - Jared Leto's vampire film "Morbius" is on the movie again after being delayed by 3 months by Sony Pictures. Previously slated for January 28, the Marvel movie will now debut in theaters on April 1st, 2022, in IMAX and premium large formats. ## This is 7th time Sony has pushed the "Morbius" release date since July 2020. The movie was originally slated for 10 July 2020, before being pushed back to 31st July over covid-19 fear. It was later announced for March 19, 2021, however, with covid cases on the rise again, it was decided for October 8, 2021, release.## While October 2021 was finally looking good for "Morbius", it had to make way for Sony's "Venom 2", which grabbed the October slot, and "Morbius" was pushed back to January 21 and then January 28, 2022. This time, things were looking all set for the superhero film, but dynamics have changed due to the Omicron variant of covid, which is said to be more infectious than the Delta. ## However, according to Deadline, the one factor motivating the push of "Morbius" was Sony's huge (continuing) success with Spider-Man: No Way Home, which established itself as the highest-grossing film of 2021 upon its December 17 debut. Mumbai, January 3 - Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" becomes only the 3rd Hollywood film to reach Rs. 200 crores (Rs. 202.34 cr) net in India, after "Avengers: Endgame" (Rs.373.05 cr), and "Avengers: Infinity War" (Rs. 228.50 cr). Interestingly, all three films belong to Marvel, which is the most loved movie brand in India. ## The finale of Holland's Home Coming trilogy, "No Way Home" has given a new lease of life to India's exhibition sector. It is only the second title of 2021 to reach Rs. 200 crores net mark, after Telugu blockbuster "Pushpa - The Rise", which was released a day after "No Way Home" on December 17, and currently stands at Rs. 207 crores India net. ## "No Way Home", meanwhile, opened to the third biggest box office numbers in India for a 2021's title. It netted Rs. 32.67 crores on the first day, and went on to register Rs. 108.27 crores (Rs. 138.63 cr. gross) over the extended 4-day opening weekend, followed by Rs. 148.07 crores net (Rs. 188.04 crores gross) for a full first week. ## From the second weekend onwards, "No Way Home" faced stiff competition from sports biopic, "83", especially in the multiplexes. However, despite the competition, the superhero movie did very well to stay afloat and generate Rs. 41.60 crores net in the second week. It continued to invite footfalls over the new year's weekend and score Rs. 12.67 crores in the 3rd weekend, for a total India net to Rs. 202.34 crores, and Rs. 256.97 crores gross for all languages (English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu). ## "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is likely to extend its strong run at the Indian box office since there is no big release until Ajith Kumar's blockbuster "Valimai" on Jan. 13. Mumbai, December 29 - Marvel/Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which introduces the multiverse concept in the MCU, has opened up many possibilities and crossovers in future MCU projects. The fans, however, are eagerly waiting for a crossover of two archenemies, Venom, and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## Since Venom isn't an official part of the MCU, the two marvel comic book characters haven't come face-to-face in the films. ICYDK, the Venom symbiote's first human host was Spider-Man himself, who eventually discovered its true nefarious nature and separated himself from the creature, as per the comic book series, "The Amazing Spider-Man" (1984). ## However, it looks like the wait will end soon, and the fans will finally get to see Venom fighting Spider-Man. As per the latest reports, "Venom 3" will explore the multiverse which will lead Venom and Spider-Man to take on each other. The much-awaited crossover was also hinted at in the end credit scenes of "Spider-Man: No Way Home", and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage".## According to CBR, an industry scooper Daniel Richtman revealed that Venom 3 will "explore the multiverse" as well as show "Venom finally meeting and fighting Spider-Man." Part of the genesis for this theory was the end-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw a dimensionally displaced Eddie Brock trying to understand the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield, who marked his comeback as Spider-Man in "No Way Home", will reportedly fight Venom in "Venom 3". The Spider-Man film is doing it without getting released in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world at the moment. ## "No Way Home" is only the fifth film to achieve the $1 billion global box office without China. At the domestic BO, "Venom 2" grossed $212.5M (3rd biggest in 2021), while overseas, it grossed $287.6M without China. ## "Venom 2's" Top 10 overseas markets are Russia ($32.4M), the UK ($24.7M), Mexico (24.6M), Korea ($17.9M), France ($15.9M), Japan ($13.1M), Germany ($12.5M), Brazil ($12.1M), Australia ($10.3M) and Spain ($10.4M).
