After delivering a historic opening weekend, the film held firm on its first Monday, scoring the joint biggest first Monday of the year with Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, domestically. ## Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara netted approximately 24 crore (28 crore gross) in India on Monday, bringing its 4-day India total to 107.25 crore net (approx. 128 crore gross). The movie also had an excellent day at the overseas box office, bringing 6 crores on Monday for a total international collection of around 23 crores. With an additional ₹26 crore coming from the overseas markets, Saiyaara has now amassed an impressive ₹161 crore gross worldwide in just four days. ## Saiyaara beats lifetime worldwide collection of Kesari: Chapter 2 and Sky Force ## After four days, the Yash Raj Films production has grossed approximately 151 crores, which is enough to top the lifetime worldwide grosses of Akshay Kumar's Sky Force and Kesari 2, which earned 150 crores and 145 crores, respectively. ## That makes Saiyaara not just a breakout debut for its newcomers but also one of the fastest Bollywood films to outpace the global lifetime collections of star-driven titles this year. The Monday hold was particularly noteworthy as it signals solid word-of-mouth. The presence of kind-hearted characters elsewhere in the story already proves that the system has good people — but when one “good apple” is placed in a rotten bunch, it risks weakening the film’s stronger message. ##The recurring use of oppari (folk lament) adds to the emotional weight, but also reflects the contradictions within the community and their fight for justice. At times, the film quietly suggests that the people may share some responsibility for their condition, but Tamil Dhayalan handles this with care, never losing sight of their dignity. ##Despite a few flaws, it’s the performances that carry Gevi forward. Sheela Rajkumar and Aadhavan are magnetic, and Vivek Mohan as Mandharai’s brother adds strength to the story. There’s a rawness in every frame that makes the film feel real — not like it’s trying to entertain the privileged, but like it’s telling a truth that needs to be heard. ##In the end, Gevi doesn’t just show a couple’s fight for life — it shows an entire community’s battle for basic rights, love, and hope.

The Mohit Suri directorial starring debutante Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda is looking unstoppable after the historic first weekend. ## Saiyaara stays strong on first Monday ## After the front-loaded first weekend, there were doubts that Saiyaara might see a drop, but that is not the case here. The trend so far suggests that the film is coming very close to the opening day figures (21.25 crores net) as it eyes at least 20 crores collection today. ## At the moment, Saiyaara is looking at a negligible drop of around 5% today from Friday, and there might be no drop if the night shows remain solid. Mumbai, July 20 - Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara goes on the overdrive on Sunday and once again surpassed expectations despite the overloaded first two days at the domestic box office. The film is clocking an average occupancy of over 70% with some areas even showing near 100% today. ## There was a capacity issue in the first two days, as the movie had a smaller release as compared to some of the top stars' movies this year, but that couldn't stop it from scoring another +40% jump on Sunday as it comfortably breached 30 crores net mark today. ## According to early estimates, the third-day collection of the movie is expected to be in the range of 35-37 crores net, with the opening weekend finishing at 81+ crores net. This is the biggest first weekend ever for an Indian romantic film, and with the debutante, the weekend is nothing short of sensational. ## There has been a huge demand for the tickets during the first weekend, where a capacity issue arose despite more and more shows getting added. The advances for Monday look super solid, and if the spot booking response is equally solid, then the movie may breach the 15 crores mark on the first working day.
