It was a dominating display of both batting and bowling which helped India to beat Ireland in 1st match of 2-match T20I series at The Village, Dublin on Wednesday, June 27.## First, it was Rohit Sharma (97 off 61 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (74 off 45 balls) helped India to reach on the mammoth total of 208 in 20 overs. After that Kuldeep Yadav (4 for 21) and Yuzvendra Chahal (3 for 38) restrict Ireland to 132 for 9 in 20 overs.## Earlier in the day, it was Ireland who had won the toss and opted India to bat first. The decision went against them as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan added 160 off 96 balls for the first wicket before Dhawan got out. Dhawan hit 5 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.## Rohit Sharma continued to play his shots but unfortunately, he missed out his 3rd hundred in the shortest format of the game and fell just 3 runs short in the last over of the innings. When he got out India had already been scored 202 runs. Hardik Pandya hit six off the last ball which was the only ball he had faced.## Ireland's bowlers were taken all around the park by Rohit and Dhawan despite Peter Chase who was the best bowler for his side. He finished his spell with 4 for 35 in his 4 overs.## In reply of 209, only James Shannon could saw some fight and scored 60 off 35 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. None of the other batsmen could contribute much as Stuart Thompson (12) was the second highest run scorer. What a thrilling end of the women's Asia Cup final. But it was Bangladesh who creates history as they beat 6 time Asia cup winner, India by 3 wickets to win first ever Asia cup on Sunday, June 10.## Going into this match, Bangladesh had nothing to lose. They stunned hot favourite India and written their name in history.## Earlier in this match, it was Bangladesh who had won the toss and put India to bat first. India started poorly and lost Smriti Mandhana after getting run out on a team score of 12. Before India could recover, Deepti Sharma (4 off 10) and Mithali Raj (11 off 18) lose their wickets in back to back overs.## Anuja Patil got out to Obstructing field as she changed her direction while running. She scored only 3 off 4 balls. India at one stage was 32 for 4 after 8.2 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy then put up a short but important partnership of 30 off 25 balls before Veda bowled out by skipper Salma Khatun. Tania Bhatia and Shikha Pandey also followed Veda as India reduced to 74 for 7 after 15 overs. ## However, Kaur and Jhulan Goswami put up 33- runs together and gave bowlers something to defend as India finished with 112 for 9 in 20 overs. Kaur led from the front and scored 56 off 42 balls before getting out on this last ball of the innings.## Bangladesh bowled well, Rumana Ahmad was the star with 22 for 2 in 4 overs. Khadija also bowled well and finished her spell with 23 for 2.## In reply of 113, Bangladesh started well and put 35 for the first wicket before Poonam Yadav dismissed both the openers in back to back balls. But Nigar Sultana (27 off 24) and Rumana Ahmad (23 off 22 balls) took the game away from India.## Bangladesh was needed 9 runs to win in last over and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur took the responsibility on her shoulders 5o defend those runs. She conceded 6 runs off first 3 balls but did well on next to ball as she gave only single and got 2 wickets (one run out). 2 required in the last ball, Jahanara Alam pushed towards deep mid wicket and completed two runs and won the Asia Cup.## Poonam Yadav was the star bowler for India as she finished her spell with 9 for 4. She was one of the main reasons this game got to the last over. India's dominance over Pakistan in women's cricket had continued as India crushed Pakistan by 7-wickets to reach final of the women's Asia Cup for record 7th time on Saturday, June 9. ## Pakistan yet to beat India in women's cricket as It was the 10th match between the two nations and India have won all of them.## In this virtual Semi-final, Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bat first. ## However, Pakistan could score only 72 for 7 in 20 overs. Sana Mir was the top scorer with unbeaten 20 off 38 balls while opener Nahida Khan was the second highest scorer with 18 off 27 balls.## None of the other batters could cross 2-digit mark and result in they reduced to the modest total of 72. ## India's bowling had been excellent again as Ekta Bisht was the star performer who conceded only 14 runs in 4 overs and picked 3 wickets.## Anuja Patil was the only bowler who conceded 6-runs per over while other bowlers finished with under 4-runs per over. ## Poonam Yadav 11 for 1, Deepti Sharma 13 for 1, Shikha Pandey 6 for 1 bowled really well to restricted Pakistan way below par score.## In a replay of 73, India didn't face any difficulty despite losing Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma on 5. ## Both the batters couldn't open their account and both were dismissed by Anam Amin. However, Smriti Mandhana and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur didn't give Pakistan any chance to create history.## However, Mandhana got out just three runs before the target. She scored 38 off 40 balls after putting 65-run partnership with Harmanpreet Kaur. ## Kaur hit the winning run as India chased down the target in 16.1 overs. Kaur remained unbeaten on 34 off 49 balls.## Pakistan didn't have much success with the ball as they could manage only 3 wickets. ## However, Anam Amin was the star bowler for them as she finished her spell with 10 for 2 in for overs. The Number One T20 bowler has become a serious match winner for Afghanistan. ## He added one more feather to his hat as he became second fastest bowler to reach 50 wickets after Sri Lanka's Ajanta Mendis. It took only 31 matches for him to reach 50 wickets.## "It was about keeping everything simple, what I've done in last two-three months. I don't have any specific plan. I keep it simple.
