Singapore, March 26 (IANS) Contrary to some reports, researchers now claim that new coronavirus doesn't spread via tears and it is unlikely that infected patients are shedding virus through eye fluid.## While researchers are certain that coronavirus spreads through mucus and droplets expelled by coughing or sneezing, it is unclear if the virus is spread through other bodily fluids, such as tears, said the study published in the journal Ophthalmology.## There is one important caveat, though.## None of the patients in the study had conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye. However, health officials believe pink eye develops in just one percent to three percent of people with coronavirus.## For the findings, researchers at National University Hospital in Singapore collected tear samples from 17 patients with COVID-19 from the time they showed symptoms until they recovered about 20 days later.## Neither viral culture nor reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) detected the virus in their tears throughout the two-week course of the disease, the researchers said.## The study researcher Ivan Seah also took samples from the back of the nose and throat during the same time period.## The findings showed that when a sick person coughs or talks, virus particles can spray from their mouth or nose into another person's face.## You're most likely to inhale these droplets through your mouth or nose, but they can also enter through your eyes, according to the research.## The study also revealed that you can also become infected by touching something that has the virus on it -- like a table or doorknob -- and then touching your eyes.## While the patients' tears were clear of the virus, their noses and throats were teeming with COVID-19, the researchers said.## The authors wrote that the findings, coupled with the low incidence of the pink eye among infected patients, suggest that the risk of virus transmission through tears is low.## The researchers hope their work helps to guide more research into preventing virus transmission through more significant routes, such as droplets and fecal-oral spread.## Stay tuned...

Brown is currently taking online therapy amid the ongoing health scare due to the outbreak of coronavirus.## In an interview with Variety, the "Black Panther " fame artiste, who has children Andrew and Amare, has been consulting with his counselor via weblink while practicing social distancing.## He said: "My therapist reached out to me and my wife and said, like, 'You guys want to do online sessions? We can do online sessions.' So hopefully your therapists are accommodating.## "If you have someone, don't just stop seeing them because you can't see them in person or find a way to connect with them, whether it's through FaceTime or any other means like things don't have to stop."## He also recalled his mother's saying.## Brown added: "And as a biblical reminder. New Delhi, March 25 (IANS) Prasar Bharti is in talks to work out a deal with the rights holders of the epic teleserial "Ramayan" and "Mahabharat", to re-telecast these shows once again during the 21-day nationwide lockdown by popular demand.## Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar conveyed as much on Twitter in response to a tweet by Akhilesh Sharma, the political editor at NDTV India.## "Yes, we are working on the same with the Rights Holders. I Will update shortly. Stay tuned," Shekhar wrote on his official Twitter handle, @shashidigital on Wednesday.## With India coming to a standstill owing to the national lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, many on social media have written how these shows were hugely popular at one time. People also noted how life on Sunday mornings would come to a standstill when these serials were telecast on Doordarshan National.## "Dear @narendramodi Ji @PrakashJavdekar Ji Please consider asking DD, and advising other channels, to telecast Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana and B R Chopra's Mahabharata daily. Perhaps two episodes a day each. They acted as magnets in quarantining people back then. The series originally ran from 25 January 1987 to 31 July 1988.## BR Chopra's "Mahabharat" featured Nitish Bhardwaj as Krishna and Roopa Ganguly as Draupadi, with Gajendra Chauhan, Praveen Kumar, Arjun, Sameer Chitre and Sanjeev Chitre as the Pandavas, and Punit Issar playing Duryodhana. When a fan asked Shahid about his experience working with Amrita, he said: " Amrita is a special co-star. I miss working with her.
