Peddi Day 16 Box Office: Collection Slumps to Rs. 2.00 Cr Gross as Film Struggles to Find Takers Outside Telugu States

Peddi completed its 16th day at the box office with an India gross collection of 2.00 Cr on its third Friday. This brings the total domestic gross to a solid 272.05 Cr. If you have been following the journey of this movie, you will notice that after a massive start, it is now entering a phase where regional loyalty is keeping the wheels turning. The movie is now entering a more stable phase after its high-octane opening weeks, with the latest daily gross reflecting a 12.5 percent decline from the previous day. While a dip is expected on a weekday, the consistency in the Telugu states remains the main highlight. The international circuit tells a much different story than the domestic one. On its 16th day, the film managed to add only 0.05 Cr from overseas markets, bringing the total international gross to 52.60 Cr. Despite the overall worldwide gross reaching 324.65 Cr, the overseas run remains a major disappointment. As we have tracked in previous reports, the film has failed to gain any real traction outside India and is now certain to end its international run as a flop, far from reaching the breakeven point. While the Indian audience gave the movie a strong run, the weak global reception has clearly impacted its final worldwide standing. Out of the ₹2.00 Cr total gross on Friday, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTG) region contributed a lion's share of ₹1.75 Cr. In contrast, the rest of India combined for about ₹0.09 Cr, while Karnataka added ₹0.15 Cr and Tamil Nadu contributed just ₹0.01 Cr. It appears that the movie has struggled to maintain its grip on non-Telugu markets, which is also reflected in the language-wise net. On Friday, the Telugu version netted ₹1.60 Cr across 2,418 shows, while the Hindi version managed ₹0.10 Cr from 542 shows. Kannada and Tamil versions together added about ₹0.05 Cr net from their respective show counts. Occupancy rates tell a similar story of steady but limited interest. On Day 16, the overall occupancy for the Telugu version was around 16.31 percent, with the afternoon and night shows performing better at approximately 17.7 percent. Regionally, Vizag-Visakhapatnam stood out with a healthy 30.3 percent overall occupancy, while Hyderabad and Vijayawada stayed in the 15 to 17 percent range. Bengaluru, however, saw a lower occupancy of just 8.0 percent. The BookMyShow data shows that 22.68K tickets were booked on the third Friday, bringing the total life-to-date ticket sales on the platform to an impressive 37,59,200 tickets. In the major national chains—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—the film has already sold over 2,800 tickets for Saturday. This is a significant jump when compared to over 1,400 tickets sold across these same chains on Day 16. To be more precise, these tickets have generated a gross of approximately ₹3.30 Lakhs from 330 shows, with an average occupancy of about 2 percent. While these figures are modest in the grand scheme, the fact that the ticket sales have nearly doubled early in the day is a clear indicator of a weekend surge. The morning occupancy for the Telugu version has also seen a positive shift, touching 14.36 percent, which is a step up from the previous morning. Although the movie has clearly entered a slower phase of its theatrical run, this uptick in Saturday momentum suggests that we might see a healthy growth in collections by tonight. If the evening and night shows maintain this trajectory, the third weekend could provide a much-needed boost to the domestic total before the weekdays begin again.
