Chennai, March 6 - Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram is winning mixed to positive responses for his recently released action thriller film, "Mahaan", which debuted directly on Amazon Prime Video. The actor is now gearing up for the blockbuster summer with two new releases. ## The "Anniyan" actor will next be seen in the sci-fi action thriller, "Cobra", which marks former Indian cricket, Irfan Pathan's film debut. Directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, the movie features Chiyaan Vikram as a mathematician in close to 8 appearances. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studios, "Cobra" will be released on May 26th and it may have a theatrical debut unlike Vikram's "Mahaan". Director Gnanamuthu recently confirmed the release date but he didn't provide the release platform. The industry reports, however, are hinting at its theatrical release first. ## "Cobra" has been in production for a long time. It was originally scheduled for a release coinciding with the Eid Al-Fitr weekend, falling on 22 May 2020. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the production of the film was halted which forced the makers to postpone the release indefinitely. ## The movie also stars Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, which marks her Tamil debut, apart from Sarjano Khalid, Miya, Roshan Mathew, K. Chennai, Jan 6 (IANS) Actor Vikram has completed shooting for director Ajay Gnanamuthu's action thriller 'Cobra'.## Director Ajay took to social media to make the announcement.## He said, "Woah!! Finally, Chiyaan Vikram sir wraps up his shoot for Cobra. What a magical experience this has been!! Loved working with you sir. You are for sure an acting monster! Shall keep these memories very close to my heart".## The reason why the director said "finally" was because Vikram was supposed to have completed his portions in December itself. However, the actor tested positive for Covid and as a result, had to isolate himself. Had Vikram not been affected by Covid, the team would have wrapped up the film's shoot by December 18.## The film, which features Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, has triggered a lot of interest as it will also mark the acting debut of former cricketer Irfan Pathan.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, December 2 - Amid the speculations of Chiyaan Vikram and director Pa.Ranjith coming together for the first time, the project has now been confirmed with K. E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green is bankrolling it. The big-ticket project has been in the talks for some time now and it will start rolling soon. ## One of the finest actors in Tamil cinema, Vikram was last seen in "Kadaram Konda"n, which was released in 2019. He recently concluded the shoot of the magnum opus "Ponniyin Selvan: Part One", which gears up for the release in summer 2022. He is also gearing up for the release of "Mahaan", which also features his son Dhruv Vikram. ## On the other hand, Pa.Ranjith is coming out from the blockbuster "Sarpatta Parambarai", starring Arya. It was released in July this year on Amazon Prime Video. He also has films like "Madras" (2014), "Kabali" (2016), and "Kaala" (2018) to his name.## Tentatively titled "Chiyaan 61", the upcoming film marks Pa.Ranjith's maiden collaboration with Vikram. It will be produced by K. E. Chennai, July 19, 2021: Mani Ratnam's long-awaited epic historical drama, Ponniyin Selvan, has been confirmed to release in two parts, first to debut in summer 2022. Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's epic five-book series novel of the same name, the movie has an ensemble cast featuring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others. ## Backed by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies along with Allirajah Subaskaran's Lyca Productions, the story of the film chronicles the early days of Arulmozhivarman, one of the most powerful kings in the south, who went on to become the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I. Kalki visited Sri Lanka three times to gather information for it. ## On Monday (July 19), the makers of the film released a brand new poster, confirming it a two-part release with a tagline of "The golden era comes to life!". The poster features a sword against a shield that has a fierce tiger's face roaring on it. Chennai, April 17 (IANS) Kennedy John Victor, popular among fans as Vikram, is one of Tamil cinema's biggest superstars. Friday is Vikram's birthday and his son Dhruv Vikram has posted a special video.## Dhruv's video sums up all that defines Vikram. It traces the actor's rise from his early days as a theatre artist, later a dubbing artiste, before he got a break in films. However, the journey wasn't as simple as it seems. It is laced with struggles before the actor started being revered for his talent.## Today, at 54, Vikram has done it all -- from winning the National Award to hitting the box office jackpot. Over the years, his fans have fondly come to refer to him as Chiyaan.## Dhruv's video has been made taking all the above facts into account.
