Hyderabad, April 12 - Superstar Yash has credited director SS Rajamouli for the Pan India rise of the Indian regional cinema. It was Rajamouli's "Baahubali - The Beginning" (2015), which broke the language barrier and became a massive Pan-India hit. Later, "Baahubali 2" set new benchmarks for the Indian cinema, followed by the huge success of "KGF: Chapter 1", "Saaho", "2.0", "Pushpa", and most recently, Rajamouli's "RRR". ## On Monday, Yash was addressing the Telugu media while promoting his upcoming "KGF: Chapter 2". During the press meet, the actor said that because of SS Rajamouli, superstar Prabhas, and producer Shobu Yarlagadda, the regional cinema filmmakers and actors got the confidence to dream big and take their films to Pan-India and have success. ## Director Prashanth Neel also called Rajamouli the biggest inspiration for all the filmmakers. "I don't think he (Rajamouli) is just a director, he is a contractor. Rajamouli sir made a small street called Pan India into an 8-lane highway", Neel said during the press meet in Hyderabad.## "KGF: Chapter 2" is arguably the most anticipated Indian movie at the moment. The movie, scheduled to release on April 14th, is sure to take a massive opening, especially in Hindi where it has shot to take the biggest opening in Hindi ever. The main reason for the postponement of "Jersey" is Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2", which also opens on April 14 and is having a sensational advance booking in Hindi.## KGF2 will now come solo on 14th April and has a shot for a 50 crores opening day. The first day is a big holiday and KGF2 being a mass film is sure to have humongous spot bookings. The advance of KGF 2 is almost confirmed that the first-day collections of KGF 2 will cross Bahubali2's first-day collections and now with the postponement of Jersey, Even a crazy 50 cr opening looks possible. ## The ticket rates are kept as high as RRR and in some places ever higher than RRR. So even with fewer footfalls on day one, KGF2 can break the record of War which is the biggest opening ever for the Hindi films at 52cr net. Bengaluru, April 10 - Director Prashanth Neel shot to fame with Yash-starrer "KGF: Chapter 1" in 2018. It was the film that made Neel one of the visionary directors of the country. His upcoming "KGF: Chapter 2" is arguably the most anticipated Indian movie of the year, and one of the main reasons behind the film's popularity is Neel's vision behind it. ## "KGF2" is Neel's third directorial. His previous two movies, including his debut movie "Ugramm", were huge box office hits. The KGF film introduced Neel to the Pan India phenomena and now, he is working with a couple of the biggest stars of Indian cinema. During a recent interview with a Kannada news channel, Neel opened up about his future projects after "KGF 2". ## The director said that he is committed to only two projects. As known to everyone, he is directing Prabhas in "Salaar". It is touted to be the biggest film in Neel's career as it will be darker and more violent. Produced by Hombale Films, 30% shoot of "Salaar" has already been completed, and the shoot will resume in May this year. The action thriller will debut in theaters in the summer of 2023 in multiple languages, including Hindi. ## Apart from "Salaar", director Neel has confirmed that he will be teaming up with Jr. NTR, who is currently basking on the success of "RRR" which has grossed over 1000 crores worldwide. Neel said that he has been a huge fan of Jr. NTR for the last 20 years and is excited to work with him. Their maiden collaboration, tentatively titled "NTR31", will go on floors sometime in 2023 and will most likely release in 2024. ## The aforementioned films are the only two confirmed projects the filmmaker currently has. There have been multiple reports that Neel would be joining forces with the current talk of the town, Ram Charan for a Pan India film. However, Neel hasn't discussed such a film and it seems Ram Charan's film with him is not going to happen anytime soon. Meanwhile, Neel has a project which he wants to do with Srimurli. Mumbai, April 7 - Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" is finally releasing in theaters next week on April 14, and if reports are to be believed, the audience might have their first look glimpse of Prabhas' "Salaar" attached with movie print. ## It is said that since "Salaar" is also being directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel for the same production house, Hombale Films, there are high chances that the makers have attached 25 seconds of "Salaar" glimpse. However, there is no confirmation about the same yet as makers have refused to comment on the same. ## "Salaar" is one of the most-awaited Pan-India projects and around 30% of the shoot is completed. The makers had originally planned for the movie to release in 2022, but it has been delayed to next year due to the covid-19 pandemic. Just like KGF, the Prabhas-starrer will also reportedly be released in two parts. ## Apart from the speculations about the "Salaar" glimpse, some reports have also stated that there might a be cameo appearance of Prabhas at the end of "KGF2", and "Salaar" might be the continuation of a Yash-led period action thriller film. Mumbai, April 6 - It is quite strange to use such a headline for an article when we talk about the box office collection in Hindi, but that's how things have become. "KGF: Chapter 2", an outright Kannada movie that will also be released in dubbed versions of other languages including Hindi, is going to be the next big film as far as biz is concerned. ## Having said that, the Yash-fronted movie has been arguably the most-awaited Pan India film that is the second chapter of Kannada's most successful film of all time. While the Hindi dubbed version of the first chapter did score only 44.42 crores net, it was enough to set the tone for the second chapter. Just like SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2", Chapter 2 of KGF is touted to run riot at the Hindi box office, which is the biggest hope for the makers. ## Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment will be distributing "KGF 2" in Hindi in association with AA Films. The film is carrying a similar kind of buzz as "Baahubali 2" in Hindi and that's what makes it a film to watch out for on the box office front. The industry is projecting it to open around 25 crores net but we think it has more potential than that and it could open with 30+ crores. With restrictions on cinemas having been lifted, one would rely on the film to open big considering the kind of potential and buzz it is carrying. ## "KGF: Chapter 2" will have a direct clash in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor-fronted "Jersey", which is the official remake of the Telugu movie of the same name starring Nani. In normal times (without clash), "Jersey" could open a huge start at the box office but the same can't be said this time around, especially when it is up against a mighty competitor "KGF 2". ## However, it is still early to rule out "Jersey" as the makers seem to be very confident about their product that they even refused to send it directly on the OTT platform despite getting big offers. Also, Shahid Kapoor's last release, "Kabir Singh" was a massive blockbuster with a worldwide gross of 377 crores. Shahid has always been a fan favorite but the box office success of Kabir Singh made him one of the most bankbale stars in the Hindi film industry.## Both "KGF 2" and "Jersey" will be released on Thursday on the occasion of Vaishakhi. While the industry is projecting Shahid Kapoor-starrer to open around 10 crores, it could get the benefit of a long Holiday weekend if the word of mouth is strong. But it will be KGF 2, which will have the upper hand throughout the weekend. If Prashanth Neel gets positive reviews, then it will be unstoppable at the Hindi box office. ## There is one more film that will be released during the same weekend is Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast". It will open a day earlier on April 13 on the occasion of Tamil New Year. The makers recently announced that it will also be released in Hindi along with other dubbed versions. While Thalapthy Vijay has some fan following in the North region, the movie, however, is unlikely to pause any challenge to "KGF 2" or "Jersey" unless it turns out to be something extraordinary. It will get the benefit of releasing a day earlier, but the makers don't seem to be too optimistic about its box office prospects in Hindi that they haven't put an extra effort to promote the movie expect releasing a couple of promos.
