Directed by Anshul Sharma, the sequel marks Ajay Devgn's return to the romantic comedy space after a gap, pairing him once again with Rakul Preet Singh, and R. The film has been certified U/A by the CBFC with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 27 minutes, making it a family-friendly entertainer targeted at multiplex audiences. The original DDPD took in 10.40 crores net (including previews), and if the reviews are extremely positive, the sequel might challenge this opening start. One of the big positives for De De Pyaar De 2 is the limited competition at the box office this weekend. With no major releases lined up, the film has a clear run and could benefit from family crowds and walk-in audiences, particularly in urban centres.
