Box Office: 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Second Day (Day 2) Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 21 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par goes overdrive on the second day and scores an almost perfect 100% growth after the double-digit opening day. This is the biggest second-day jump for a Bollywood movie with a double-digit start. ## According to early estimates, the film has scored in the range of 21-22+ crores net on Saturday, which takes its total collection to around 32 crores net in 2 days. The opening weekend, which looked like it might finish in the mid-40s, is now aiming for 55 crores net or might be even higher as pre-sales for Sunday are excellent. ## The huge second-day growth has made up for most of the lost ground of the opening day, which saw a decent start, but it couldn't be called good, given the fact that Aamir's film used to take much bigger openings in the past. However, the openings, even for a superstar movie, haven't been the same post the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for non-mass movies, so considering that, SZP's weekend can be called decent to good. ## The success of the movie will depend on how strong the hold will be on Monday, which has become a crucial factor for all the movies with low openings. Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' Shooting Details Revealed

Mumbai, June 21 - Ajay Devgn has been among the most successful Bollywood actors in recent times, and his upcoming line-up promises to take things a notch higher for him. The actor has nearly half a dozen films in the pipeline, and one of the hugely anticipated ones is Drishyam 3. ## Drishyam is among the most successful film franchises of Indian cinema with immense repeat value. The third instalment of it was recently confirmed for October 2, 2026, release. According to the report by Pinkvilla, the movie will start its shooting journey exactly a year before its theatrical debut. ## "The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise (those who have watched would know why), and hence, the makers are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025", says the report. ## Ajay Devgn has already reportedly allotted his dates for Drishyam 3, which will be shot at real locations of Maharashtra, as well as the studio set up during a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months. Box Office: 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 20 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par has taken a decent start at the domestic box office. The film picked up well towards the evening and night shows, and managed to cross the double-digit mark by a decent margin. ## According to early estimates, SZP has scored in the range of 11-12 crores net collection. It was also released in Telugu and Tamil, in which, it has earned around 15-20 lakh collection. The trade was expecting an 8-9 crores opening, so considering that, it is a decent start. ## The opening of Sitaare Zameen Par is almost in the same range as Aamir's last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which scored around 11.75 crores net in all versions. Another similarity between both films is that their genre are the same, and both performed best in urban centres. ## The audience word of mouth for SZP is on the positive side, and the advances for the weekend are much better, which indicates solid growth on Saturday and Sunday. But the Maddock has now decided to postpone Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's film. ## Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock believes that Param Sundari has a strong chance of succeeding at the box office, and he doesn’t want it to get lost in a crowded release schedule. Both SOS2 and Param Sundari are in the same genre, but the former has more face value due to star power and franchise. ## Vijan has strategically opted to reposition the film to ensure it receives the attention it deserves, both for its narrative and its music. Mumbai, June 11 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is opting for a strategic release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which debuts on the big screen on June 20. The film is the spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in the news for all the right reasons. It has already been confirmed that the movie won't be released on any OTT platform after its theatrical release, a decision which is being enjoyed by exhibitors. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Aamir, along with his national distributing partner, PVR-Inox, has decided to give a platform release to Sitaare Zameen Par, which is basically to increase the shows on a real-time basis throughout the day. It is a one of its kind strategy to release the film. ## It is said that Aamir Khan is super confident of the film, but he is also well aware of the change in audience dynamics post the Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping this in mind, the makers have reportedly decided to release the film on around 1200 screens nationwide on the opening day. ## The idea is to add more screens based on audience word of mouth. "The release will be more concentrated towards the high-performing cinema halls in the respective areas, before slowly transitioning to the mass belts on demand", says the report. ## The good thing is that no one knows when the film will be available on home media since Aamir has decided not to release it on OTT, and this gives the makers enough time to implement their release strategy. It will also have the same kind of release in international markets, but the details are not known yet. ## Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by R. S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Box Office: 'Housefull 5' First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 10 - After the solid hold on Monday, Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5 continues to score well and scored another double-digit collection on its first Tuesday. It was a discounted day, and the drop was well within the expected range. ## According to early estimates, the comedy entertainer scored 10.50-11.50 crores net collection on Tuesday/the 5th day, pushing total collection to around 111 crores. With this, it has crossed Housefull 3 (110 crores net) to become the third biggest domestic grosser of the franchise. ## The first full week of the film is heading toward 125-130 crores net, which is a good result. The lack of competition in the second weekend is expected to help the film as it will be looking to score a solid hold during the weekend. Vivek Agnihotri Renames 'The Delhi Files' To 'The Bengal Files'; Announces New Release Date

Mumbai, June 10 - Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has renamed his upcoming film The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter on public demand. The political drama has now been titled as The Bengal Files: Right To Life, which is the third film in Agnihotri's Files trilogy after The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022). ## Taking to social media on Tuesday, Agnihotri shared the new title along with a poster of the film, which examines the horrific communal violence that took place in undivided Bengal during the 1940s. The filmmaker announced that the teaser of the movie will be out on June 5, while the film will hit the big screen on September 5 this year. ## The Bengal Files: Right To Life delves into historical events such as the Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots. Agnihotri has described these incidents as a "Hindu genocide" and expressed his intent to bring to light a largely neglected chapter of Indian history. "This is the truth, and I know it will attract a lot of criticism, but that will not deter me from saying the truth," he said in a recent interview. ## Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I Am Buddha, the film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Govind Namdeo, Mohan Kapur, and Satwant Kaur, among others, in key roles. YRF Pauses Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's 'Tiger vs Pathaan'?

Mumbai, June 10 - Yash Raj Films' ambitious crossover Tiger vs Pathaan has reportedly been shelved. The spy action thriller was supposed to bring together Indian cinema's two biggest stars, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time in full-fledged roles since Karan Arjun. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, YRF's head, Aditya Chopra, is reassessing the future of Spy Universe to give it a new direction. It is said that Chopra is concerned about spy universe films becoming formulaic and "veering towards repetition". ## Chopra believes that the franchise needs a revitalised approach to storytelling and presentation, and in this process, the studio has reportedly paused the development of Tiger vs Pathaan, which was supposed to start rolling in late 2026. ## YRF next has Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's War 2, scheduled to hit the big screen on August 14, followed by Alia Bhatt's Alpha in December this year.
