Jio Studios Unveils New Glimpses of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's Untitled Love Story

Mumbai, April 12 - One of the leading production and distribution houses in India, Jio Studios has unveiled a huge slate of films and streaming shows at a star-studded event in Mumbai today. The studio confirmed 100 stories in the form of movies and web shows across multiple languages. ## As far as the theatrical slate is concerned, Jio Studios has some of the most anticipated films in its kitty. Among the films the studio has, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's yet untitled love story carries huge anticipation among the fans, and to their delight, it unveils a new glimpse and looks. ## The movie was recently announced officially with the first look poster. Co-written and directed by Amit Joshi & Aradhana Sah and the filming for the movie has already been wrapped and it will be hitting theaters in October this year. Mumbai, April 12 - In 2021, URI director Aditya Dhar announced his passion project The Immortal Ashwatthama, based on the character of Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, from Mahabharata. Vicky Kaushal was roped in to play this lead role while Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Movies was to produce this big-budget epic. ## The film was supposed to start in 2021, but due to budget issues, it was put on hold indefinitely. The film has undergone numerous casting and budgetary changes over the past two years as both Vicky Kaushal and Ronnie Screwvala backed out from the project.## Now, after almost two years, the mammoth project seems to be back on track with a different cast. According to Peepingmoon.com, Aditya Dhar has approached Ranveer Singh to play the role of Ashwatthama and the talks are in the advanced stage. ## "Aditya Dhar and Ranveer have been discussing this project for months, and talks are now in an advanced stage. It's a big theatrical project about a larger-than-life character, and Ranveer doesn't want to pass up the opportunity to play such a legendary role. He has given his nod and is expected to sign on the dotted line as soon as all the formalities are completed", a source close to the development told Peepingmoon.com.## The website also revealed that Jio Studios has come on board to produce and has sanctioned a humongous budget for this sci-fi superhero film. Mumbai, April 12 - Ajay Devgn-directed and fronted action drama Bholaa has crossed the 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the second film of Ajay in a row after Drishyam 2 to reach the milestone. ## An adaptation of the Tamil hit Kaithi, Bholaa reached the 100 crores mark on its 13th day and is continuing with a decent run at the domestic as well as overseas box office despite the mixed reviews and not being a multiplex-friendly flick. ## In India, it has grossed approx. 90 crores (75+ crore net) through 2nd Tuesday. Mumbai, April 5 - IMAX recorded record-breaking results at the box office in the first quarter of 2023 as the company announced on April 4 that its first quarter box office earning was $282.2 million, beating its previous best set in 2016 by more than $10 million. ## The record-breaking results were powered by a potent global mix of releases; the first quarter now stands as IMAX's highest-grossing quarter ever for local language releases and also saw the stunning performance of James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water".## As far as Indian films are concerned, IMAX announced that Shah Rukh Khan-fronted mega-blockbuster "Pathaan" delivered IMAX's biggest global opening weekend of all time for an Indian film. The company didn't reveal the box office collection for a particular local movie but revealed that local language films recorded $86.3 million and "Pathaan" was one of the biggest contributors to that. ## "The first quarter is an excellent indicator of the promise we see in 2023 — a year in which we expect to return to our record-breaking levels of box office from 2019", said Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX. Akshay Kumar To Reunite With Director AR Murugadoss For A Special Film

Mumbai, April 5 - Tamil director AR Murugadoss has been missing from the action since Rajinikanth's "Darbar" (2020) which underperformed at the box office. He is, however, currently busy with the promotion of his production venture, August 16, 1947, which is set to be released on April 7. ## Apart from August 16, 1947, the filmmaker has not decided on his next directorial but during a recent interview with Galatta Plus, he revealed what he has been up to in the past two years during the covid-19 pandemic. ## The "Kaththi" director revealed that he is working on a film with animals and a bunch of kids as the lead characters. He had written the script for the fantasy film even before his debut venture Dheena (2001) but due to restrictions on shooting with animals, the movie was put on hold before he finally debuted with Dheena and there was no looking back since. ## The director calls it his dream project which is finally decided to revive during the covid-19 pandemic. The film will have a powerful extended 20-minute cameo and Murugadoss revealed that he narrated the same to Akshay Kumar who liked the idea and agreed to do it. ## Murugadoss decided to make the film with CGI and visual effects and for the same, he connected with an Oscar-winning company called Double Negative, which has worked in Avengers. The director narrated the story to them and they were super happy. Mumbai, April 4 - Bholaa heading for a decent first Tuesday as the early estimate collections suggest a 4.50-5 crores net which is similar to the first Monday collections. Today was a partial holiday so the collections could be coming on the higher side as compared to yesterday. ## The first Tuesday collection will take the total collections of the film to over 53 crores net mark. The first seven days of business of the film is heading towards the 57 cr net mark while the extended first-week business of eight days should be around the 61-63 crores net. ## The first week of business is on the average side for Bholaa where he did see some good days while some days were also below average.## The film is still in a race to emerge as a successful film though it needs to hold well on the weekdays. Yash Raj Films Confirms Upcoming Films In The Spy Universe

Mumbai, April 4 - Yash Raj Films is building its Spy Universe featuring some of the biggest stars of Bollywood. It all started with Salman Khan-fronted Ek Tha Tiger (2012) before he reprised his role in the sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Both movies were huge blockbusters which fueled YRF to take the franchise to another level. ## In 2019, the studio released the third film in the Spy Universe, War-fronted by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. It continued the blockbuster run before Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Pathaan (2023) took the Spy Universe to next level and turned out to be the biggest blockbuster. ## Pathaan was the first film in this blockbuster series in which characters from previous films were introduced. While there was a reference to Hrithik's Kabir in the film, Salman Khan played a vital cameo as Tiger. The third installment of Tiger is already in the making and is scheduled to release on Diwali 2023. ## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 will have SRK's cameo as Pathaan, and the events of this film will set up the stage for Hrithik Roshan's War 2 which will be the next film in the Spy Universe, YRF has confirmed (via Taran Adarsh). It will be directed by Ayan Mukerji and this will be his first directorial in the Spy Universe.## War 2 will likely have Salman and SRK's cameos as Tiger and Pathaan. It will start filming later this year and be released in 2024. After War 2, YRF will start the biggest movie of the Spy Universe and possibly the biggest in Indian cinema, Tiger Vs Pathaan which might be the swan song of one of the actors in the Spy series. ## There is no director named yet for this mega movie which will pitch Salman's Tiger and SRK's Pathaan against each other. It will start rolling next year and be released in 2025 on a grand scale worldwide. Mumbai, April 2 - Bholaa witnessed its biggest day at the box office thanks to the holiday on Sunday as the early estimate collections suggest a 13.50-14.50 crores net box office mark. The collection is good for the type of film Bholaa which is devoid of commercial elements like Music, comedy, and fun moments. The film is an action film but in a very dark zone which the family audience does not prefer.
