Top 5 Jaw-Dropping Moments From 7/7/23 WWE SmackDown

The July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown set up some impressive records. ## During the episode of SmackDown, which took place in Madison Square Garden, Roman Reigns showed up his superiority as the central figure at the Head of the Table. In another noteworthy clash, AJ Styles defeated Karrion Kross. The intense showdown between Edge and Grayson Waller resulted in a hard-fought victory for the veteran. Sheamus vied for the United States Title but ultimately fell short in his bid against Austin Theory. ## It was also noted by WWE in a tweet following the event that the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown had become the most financially successful WWE event ever held at Madison Square Garden, a venue that has had the honor of hosting WrestleMania on three occasions. ## Here are the Top 5 Jaw-Dropping Moments from WWE SmackDown. ## #1. Roman Reigns' Betrayal: The Usos' failed attempt at reasoning with Roman Reigns took an unexpected turn when Reigns low-blowed Jey Uso, leaving fans shocked and heartbroken. The subsequent brutal beatdown by Reigns and Solo Sikoa showcased the depths of Reigns' villainous persona. ## #2. Jey Uso's Vengeance: Seeking justice for his brother, Jey Uso made return later in the night with a steel chair in hand. His demand for Reigns to pay for his actions added an intense layer to their ongoing rivalry. It seems like the fans will finally get to witness an intense showdown between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso at SummerSlam. ## #3. Austin Theory's Controversial Win: In a fiercely contested match against Sheamus, United States Champion Austin Theory managed to escape with his title intact. With the help of Kit Wilson and Elton Prince, Theory capitalized on distractions, mocking Sheamus and ultimately using underhanded tactics to steal the victory. ## #4. AJ Styles' Triumph over Karrion Kross: In another showdown, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles took down Karrion Kross, and it was Michin that proved to be the equalizer in the matchup. Despite Kross' domination, Styles showcased his ability and athleticism to steal a victory. With Michin's unexpected interference neutralizing Scarlett's involvement, Styles seized the opportunity and secured a hard-fought win. ## #5. Edge's Lesson in Respect: Grayson Waller's disrespectful remarks laid the foundation for an epic clash with the iconic Edge. Waller's prospects for a bright future became even more apparent when he was given the opportunity to share the ring with none other than John Cena at Money In The Bank. If there was any doubt about Waller's potential, it was surely dispelled by his interaction with Edge. Many within the creative team believe that Waller possesses the necessary skills, both in the realm of wrestling and on the microphone, to ascend to the status of a main eventer in the years to come. However, Edge's wealth of experience and calculated focus on Waller's vulnerable ribs ultimately enabled him to unleash a resounding Spear upon his adversary. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Jey Uso Issues Challenge To Roman Reigns: 'Accept So I Can Whoop Your Ass One More Time'

At the conclusion of the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, Jey Uso made a comeback at Madison Square Garden, having previously accompanied his brother Jimmy Uso to the hospital. Jimmy had been carried away on a stretcher by Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns. Jey scared off Reigns using a chair and proceeded to unleash his fury upon Solo with the same weapon. ## Taking hold of the microphone and the highly coveted WWE Universal Title, Jey asserted his authority, declaring himself the judge, jury, and executioner. He emphasized that a trial by fire awaited and extended a daring challenge to Reigns. ## With determination in his voice, Jey urged Reigns to accept, vowing to thoroughly defeat him once again. Earlier in the evening, Reigns and Solo Sikoa had emerged victorious in the Tribal Court, overpowering the Usos. In a brutal display, Reigns and Sikoa subjected Jimmy to punishment involving the championship belt and steel steps. The onslaught concluded with Solo crashing onto Jimmy through the announcer's table, resulting in his hospitalization. ## Will @WWERomanReigns accept Jey @WWEUsos' challenge?#SmackDown pic.twitter.com/7HwwJkOwUp— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) July 8, 2023 ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Waller follows up with a cravate and a series of knee strikes. However, Edge fights back with a barrage of punches and forearm shots. Waller responds with a well-placed knee to Edge's midsection, but he doesn't let up, launching a double sledgehammer to the back of Waller's head, followed by a forceful elbow drop to his back. ## Waller regains his composure and heads back to the turnbuckles. But Edge counters with a forearm strike to the midsection, disrupting Waller's plan. Edge connects with another forearm and positions himself for a superplex. However, Waller manages to block the attempt and swiftly sends Edge crashing face-first into the mat. Seizing the moment, Waller springs off the ropes, attempting an elbow drop, only for Edge to raise his knees in defense. ## Edge delivers a powerful boot to Waller's head, swiftly followed by a flapjack maneuver. As Waller rolls onto the apron, Edge slips under him, executing a devastating powerbomb onto the unforgiving floor outside. Edge then ushers Waller back into the ring, ascending the turnbuckles himself. With precision, he launches a cross body, narrowly securing a near fall. ## Edge prepares for his signature Impaler DDT. However, Waller proves to be a formidable opponent, thwarting the move's execution. Edge rebounds, forcefully sending Waller into the turnbuckles. Waller executes a spectacular leaping Unprettier, coming agonizingly close to victory. Waller continues his assault, delivering a series of punishing forearms to the back of Edge's head, even securing a near fall in the process. ## Waller transitions to a series of kicks, while Edge fights back with determined punches. Yet, Waller retaliates with a powerful forearm, narrowly missing another near fall. With Edge perched on Waller's shoulders, the wily veteran manages to regain his footing and executes a devastating Edgecution, earning yet another near fall. ## Edge readies himself for his devastating spear. However, Waller anticipates the move and cleverly evades, causing Edge to collide with the unforgiving turnbuckles. Waller utilizes a slingshot rolling maneuver to reenter the ring. Yet, his fate is sealed as Edge swiftly recovers and delivers a thunderous spear, culminating in the three-count and securing the victory. ## WINNER: Edge ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Roman Reigns Vs. Jey Uso Title Match Teased In Epic 40-Minute Bloodline Segment On WWE SmackDown

This segment dominated the initial 37 minutes of the show, laying the groundwork for what appears to be an upcoming clash between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. The creative team allotted an impressive 40 minutes to this segment, underscoring the tremendous drawing power of the Bloodline storyline. The Usos emerged as the opening act, acknowledging the widespread belief that Reigns was unbeatable, only to have their claims challenged by recent events at Money in the Bank. ## Paul Heyman intervened with Solo Sikoa by his side, assuming the role of Reigns' legal representative. Despite attempts by The Usos to interrupt Heyman, he swiftly silenced them, making it clear that only one individual possessed the authority to order him to stop speaking. In a bold move, Sikoa snatched Heyman's microphone and discarded it on the floor. ## At that moment, Reigns' entrance music reverberated throughout the arena, prolonging his arrival and prompting a commercial break. It became evident that the trial of Roman Reigns was about to commence.## Responding to the fans' chants reminding him of his recent pinfall defeat, Reigns admitted to the setback but remained resolute in his claim as the tribal chief. He expressed bewilderment over the purpose of his presence that night, emphasizing that neither Uso possessed the authority to subject him to trial. Reigns questioned who had such authority.## Disregarding Reigns' statements, The Usos presented their first exhibit: a compilation of clips depicting Reigns belittling, manipulating, humiliating, and assaulting both The Usos and Heyman. Despite the damning footage, Reigns refuted the notion that it reflected his true self, asserting that his actions were compelled by circumstances. He emphatically stated that he had never desired to engage in such behavior and had only done so for the sake of The Usos and Heyman. Highlighting the impact on his family, Reigns revealed that his daughters backstage were struggling to recognize the person he had become.## Reigns, acknowledging his responsibilities as a father of five, questioned the necessity of further inflicting pain on others. He declared his disinterest in the trappings of fame, fortune, and power. Displaying a moment of vulnerability, Reigns removed his lei and placed it on Jey, followed by relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship, then bowing down before his cousin, tears streaming down his face.## Attempting to console Reigns, Jey approached, but the tribal chief abruptly unleashed a low blow on him. Jimmy sought retribution, but Solo swiftly intervened, halting his attack. Gazing at the discarded lei on the ground, Solo exhibited internal conflict. Jimmy charged at Reigns, but Solo incapacitated him with a devastating strike. Seizing the lei, Solo left an air of uncertainty as to where his loyalties truly lay. As Jey recovered and launched himself at Reigns, Solo intercepted him with another attack. Reigns regained control, subjecting Jimmy to a relentless assault while forcing Jey to bear witness. Bludgeoning Jimmy with a series of chair shots, Reigns left no doubt as to his dominance. Solo bound Jey to the ropes as Reigns admonished him, asserting that he could never ascend to the tribal chief's position. Subsequently, Reigns battered Jimmy with the WWE title, delivering a brutal onslaught, as Jey managed to break free and launch an attack on Reigns. However, Solo halted Jey's uprising with a decisive blow. Reigns proceeded to bury Jey beneath a mountain of chairs, while Solo incapacitated Jimmy with a devastating splash onto the announcer's table. The segment culminated with Reigns triumphantly posing alongside the championship belt. ## 👀#SmackDown pic.twitter.com/MGqFYp2P1d— WWE (@WWE) July 8, 2023 ## #TribalCourt is adjourned.#SmackDown pic.twitter.com/ywZRCbotI2— WWE (@WWE) July 8, 2023 ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Edge first made his WWE debut on the June 22, 1998 episode of Raw. ## Most recently, Edge appeared on the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown as a guest on the Grayson Waller Effect. Despite Waller's attempts to convince him to retire, Edge ended up wrestling Waller on the show and emerged victorious with his signature move, the spear. ## In a backstage interview, Edge hinted that he might also commemorate his 25-year anniversary on Raw and NXT. ## Singles Match: Edge vs. Sheamus ## Edge made an unexpected appearance in Hart Country just a week before his 25-year anniversary celebration. The reason behind his appearance was significant as he aimed to shake things up for the upcoming August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. ## Although Edge's presence wasn't initially announced for the August 11 edition of SmackDown, he surprised the Calgary WWE Universe by showing up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This decision was fueled by his desire to reconnect with his fans there after a considerable absence. Beyond merely celebrating his Homecoming in Toronto, Edge had bigger plans for the August 18 SmackDown episode. ## In a bold move, Edge issued a challenge to Sheamus, a rival he had never faced one-on-one throughout their shared time in WWE. Edge recounted a story during which he appeared on Sheamus' Celtic Warrior Workouts YouTube channel and the subsequent incident of falling off his bike. These events served as the catalysts for his return to WWE, and Edge aimed to make the August 18 SmackDown episode a memorable one, not just for his Toronto Homecoming. ## Inviting Sheamus to join him in the ring, Edge extended his challenge. Sheamus, on his part, shared his own tale about how Edge's words of encouragement back in 2004 played a pivotal role in keeping his WWE dreams alive. Sheamus ultimately accepted Edge's challenge. While the atmosphere remained mostly amicable, Sheamus offered a final caution to Edge, hinting that he might be underestimating the consequences of his challenge. ## With an agreement to share a pint of Guinness after their match, these experienced veterans are set to finally clash for the first time ever in Toronto on August 18. ## Grayson Waller Effect with Rey Mysterio ## Rey Mysterio unexpectedly became the WWE United States Champion once again. The plan was for Santos Escobar to challenge Austin Theory for the title on the August 11 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. However, Theory tried to avoid defending his title by attacking Santos backstage and then again during his entrance. ## But Santos Escobar didn't let Theory off the hook. He agreed to replace himself with Rey Mysterio in the title match. Rey Mysterio ended up winning his third WWE United States Championship by defeating Austin Theory with his signature 619 move. Later, it was revealed that Rey Mysterio would appear on the Grayson Waller Effect on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. ## Charlotte Flair & Asuka Vs. Damage CTRL? ## Last week on SmackDown, Damage CTRL caused Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka to end in a no-contest. Following their Triple Threat Match against Bianca Belair at SummerSlam, Charlotte Flair and Asuka renewed their intense feud. ## Just as The Queen of WWE was preparing to apply her Figure-Eight Leglock, SKY and the other members of Damage CTRL suddenly appeared at ringside. ## This marked SKY's arrival as a dominant force on SmackDown, as she executed a double dropkick on both Flair and Asuka, resulting in the match being declared a no-contest. ## To stay updated with all the latest wrestling news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Bayley Goes Too Far, Cuts Shotzi's Hair After WWE SmackDown Match

On the June 30 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Bayley took scissors to Shotzi's hair after a hard-fought battle between the two. Shotzi had boldly attempted to secure a spot in the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match, challenging Bayley for her position. ## However, Bayley emerged victorious in their singles match, thanks in part to some assistance from IYO SKY. SKY craftily intervened by placing Bayley's foot on the ropes when it seemed Shotzi had the victory within her grasp. As a result, a disgruntled Shotzi confronted Damage CTRL backstage. ## Capitalizing on their numerical advantage, the members of Damage CTRL exploited the situation, leading to Bayley ultimately snipping a lock of Shotzi's hair. Throughout the hair-cutting process, Bayley repeatedly taunted her opponent, branding her as "a freak." ## oh i didn't see shotzi was the one to start it!!!! 🤨pic.twitter.com/1HetTGatIL— maia (@baycedes) June 30, 2023 ## It looks like Iyo and Bayley have solidified their friendship at this go-home.
