Update On Samoa Joe Vacating NXT Championship

A new update has emerged regarding the status of Samoa Joe who is no longer the WWE NXT Champion. ## Well, Joe posted a video this evening on Twitter stating that he has suffered an injury and must vacate the NXT Championship. Joe stated, WWE medical asked him for a brief but yet undetermined amount of time away from The Ring, Joe said that with the new era of NXT coming this week. ## He knows that this brand deserves a champion that will be there and will fight for the title in the brand every single week and right now he Can't do so. He said that it's not about him. It's about the brand and he will be back now. ## It's unknown exactly. What WWE will do with the NFC Championship going forward. We do know that this Wednesday on NXT. We do have a fatal four-way match. It was supposed to Crown the next number one Contender for some mojo on the NXT Championship. ## So maybe this could turn into an actual championship match for the vacant title. Again. WWE has not announced what they are going to do now that the NXT Championship has been vacated for the second time in the last year. ## Here is the update from the latest Wrestling Observer Radio: ## “It’s a weird story. He’s still with the company. But I don’t know if he’s going to be wrestling much because the only thing I heard officially from WWE on this, because I contracted unofficially a bunch of people who really didn’t know anything – he’d actually said this before people in NXT even had an idea any of this was going on, so it wasn’t like they knew anything. ## “But the official thing that I was just told is that he was hired to be more of an administrator or whatever, like a front office person, more than a wrestler, so that’s gonna be his job. The thing with him and Kross drew interest, it was a big deal in NXT, but they’re going in a different direction. Why he couldn’t lose the title (in a match instead of vacating it) beats me. ## “There’s many unanswered questions in this story. If he’s gonna be able to wrestle in a couple of weeks, or a short period of time, stripping him kind of makes no sense.
