For the second time this year, the UFC will put on a stacked card with three title bouts and this time the capacity crowd would in attendance. This is a stacked card in front of 15,000 UFC fans, headlined by the blockbuster rematch between Welterweight Champion Usman and the rival Masvidal.##
As noted, Jorge Masvidal had stepped in on less than a week's notice to face Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 251, replacing the original challenger Gilbert Burns, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on 3 July 2020.##
Prior to the fight, he sigzed a new, multi-fight contract with the UFC. He lost the fight via unanimous decision. The card reportedly generated 1.3 million pay-per-view buys in the United States, the most since UFC 229 in October 2018.##
A UFC Women's Strawweight Championship bout between the current champion Zhang Weili and former champion Rose Namajunas is scheduled to take place at the event. A UFC Women's Flyweight Championship bout between current champion Valentina Shevchenko and former strawweight champion Jéssica Andrade is also expected at the event.##
