Ric Flair Says His Last Match Was Especially Big For Me Because His Entire Family Was There

Ric Flair made a huge move earlier last week by scheduling the last match of his Wrestling career. ## On July 31, 2022, in Nashville, Tennessee, Ric Flair headlined the event in the final match of his 50-year career, teaming with son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. ## Obisouldy the show was to draw some big numbers, As revealed, Ric Flair's Last match drew 6,800 fans for a live gate of $448,502, making it the second highest-grossing North American independent professional wrestling event in modern history behind All In. ## Speaking to Lucha Libre Online, Flair was asked about his last match. ## "I'm very happy with it. I needed to give it one more shot. I feel like I didn't go out the right way, and to have the relationship now that I do with Andrade, with Charlotte, to have a son-in-law like him to be a tag team partner, for him to tag with me and have the whole family there and his family, who I've gotten to know well, it was big for all of them. ## It was especially big for me because my entire family was there and the only person to get an opportunity to do that twice. Once in 2008 with Shawn Michaels and now with my son-in-law in Nashville, it was big," he said. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Ric Flair: 'I’ve Already Been Offered 10 Matches At 50 Grand A Piece'

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ric Flair commented on his upcoming “last match” and explained why this will be his last match. ## “It has to be. That question, I get asked a lot. It will just have to be. Even if I do real well, I can’t go back on my word to the people that have given me all this respect and time and have bought tickets. I’ve already been offered 10 matches at 50 grand a piece. Over in Europe, a guy offered me $100,000. This will be the last one. I can manage somebody in the ring, but this will be my last match.” ## “It’s not about money at all. I’m great, money-wise. When I saw Steve (Austin) and Vince (McMahon) at WrestleMania, people have been asking me to do it. Some people offered me $100,000 to do it, and I thought, ‘Nah.’ I don’t want to go in and half-ass it, I need to really get in shape. I’m taking three months to get into shape, I feel great.## "I’ve had some ups and downs. I had plantar fasciitis, I still have it, but it’s almost 90% healed. I pretty much have that under control and I feel great. I don’t hurt, I don’t ache. Why not? Who doesn’t like the glory. If I pull it off, I’ll be bigger than ever. It’ll be more than a ‘Wooo,’ chop, and strut. I have to perform.” ## H/T: Fightful ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Change Made To The Card For Ric Flair's Last Match Due To An Injury

Some changes have been made to Ric Flair's Last match due to an injury! ## It was announced yesterday that a singles match between NJPW's Ren Narita and Yuya Uemura is now scheduled for pay-per-view, Ric Flair's final match. Narita was originally supposed to face Connors at the PPV, but he has a herniated disc in his back and is not currently able to wrestle. ## This would also stop Connors from wrestling at today's NJPW Strong High Alert tapings and at NJPW Music City Mayhem this Saturday. ## "Sorry to all the fans out there," Connors tweeted. "I have dealt with herniation issues for the past 8 years or so, but this one is different. Those who know me know that to miss a week like this, you would darn near have to kill me. And that is about the case right now." ## Ric Flair's Last Match is almost brimmed with quality matches. As of writing there are 11 matches on the card. The event is taking place next Sunday (July 31) as part of Starrcast V in Nashville, Tennessee. The Last Match PPV, which will air live on Fite TV, is being held at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.
