WWE Hall of Fame (2005): List Of Inductees, Date

The class of 2005 was no exception, featuring some of the most iconic and beloved names in wrestling history. ## The headliner of the 2005 class was Hulk Hogan, one of the most famous and influential wrestlers of all time. Hogan first gained fame in the 1980s as the charismatic hero of the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), winning multiple championships and engaging in memorable feuds with the likes of Andre the Giant and the Ultimate Warrior. Hogan's popularity helped propel wrestling into the mainstream, and he continued to be a major star throughout the 1990s and 2000s. His induction into the Hall of Fame was a well-deserved tribute to his legendary career.## Another major inductee in 2005 was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, one of the most colorful and controversial figures in wrestling history. Piper was known for his brash personality and quick wit, as well as his intense in-ring style. He was a major star in the 1980s, winning championships and engaging in memorable feuds with the likes of Hogan and Ric Flair. Piper's induction into the Hall of Fame was a testament to his enduring popularity and his influence on the sport.## The 2005 class also included two legends of women's wrestling: the Fabulous Moolah and Wendi Richter. The Fabulous Moolah was a trailblazer in women's wrestling, winning her first championship in 1956 and remaining a major star for several decades. She helped pave the way for future generations of female wrestlers and was a respected figure in the industry until her death in 2007. Wendi Richter was another major star in the 1980s, best known for her feud with the villainous "Spider Lady" (actually Moolah in disguise) and her partnership with pop star Cyndi Lauper.## Rounding out the class of 2005 were the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, two wrestlers who were known for their villainous personas during the 1980s. The Iron Sheik was an Iranian-born wrestler who often played up his foreignness to generate heat with American audiences. He won the WWE Championship in 1983 and continued to be a major presence in the company for several years. Nikolai Volkoff was a Russian-born wrestler who often teamed with the Iron Sheik to form a heel tag team. He was also a talented singer and would often sing the Russian national anthem before his matches.## Overall, the class of 2005 was a fitting tribute to some of the most iconic and influential figures in wrestling history. From Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper to the Fabulous Moolah and the Iron Sheik, each inductee had made a lasting impact on the sport and had helped shape it into what it is today. The WWE Hall of Fame serves as a reminder of the rich history of wrestling, and the class of 2005 was a shining example of that history. ## Change Table Name Image Ring name(birth name) Inducted by WWE recognized accolades Hulk Hogan(Terry Bollea) Sylvester Stallone Six-time WWF/E World (Heavyweight) ChampionSix-time WCW World Heavyweight ChampionOne-time WWE World Tag Team Champion Two-time Royal Rumble winner (1990, 1991) "Rowdy" Roddy Piper(Roderick Toombs) Ric Flair One-time WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight ChampionThree-time NWA/WCW United States Heavyweight ChampionHost of Piper's PitIn 2006, Piper also won the World Tag Team Championship.
