Perth, February 11, 2023 -Here is the full recap for The UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Islam Makhachev and current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. ##
The event takes place on February 12, 2023, at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The main card kicks off at 10pm ET/7pm PT. ##
UFC 284: Islam Makhachev Vs. Alexander Volkanovski Full Fight ##
FIRST ROUND: The main event is underway and the crowd is fired up for the fight. Makhachev is getting booed right now. Both fighters are stepping in the middle. They are staying wise now. Islam opens the fight with a Bodyshot. Volkanovski lands one of his own and the crowd goes crazy. ##
Volkanovski with a massive left hand and Islam stumbles. The crowd is ridiculous. Volkanovski swings another one but doesn't land. Islam is staying calm, no big strikes from him. The crowd is crazy after Volkanovski. ##
Isalm gets Volkanovski on the floor with a Nice knee. There is a Clinch from Islam against the fence. Islam is holding the back. Volkanovski is staying on the hand fight there. Islam gets Volkanovski down and shapes up the position. Islam gets his arm around Volkanovski's neck, but Volkanovski manages to get to the end of the round. ##
SECOND ROUND: The first was crazy, the crowd is really likely the offenses. Islam is still staying calm. Volkanovski with a right hand and there is good body work from Volkanovski. There is a Takedown from Volkanovski against the fence. Islam with a nice reversal, Volkanovski is back to his feet. Islam is still holding the back. Volkanovski backup and separates. ##
There is a clinch once again, Volkanovski switches and separates. They are in the middle now. Volkanovski slips when he goes for the low leg. Volkanovski swings once hard, but Islam gets the momentum when he lands a left one. Islam drills some good strikes. Volkanovski makes the work with some left hands. Volkanovski working through a clinch. 18 seconds left in the round and Volkanovski is still holding the clinch. ##
THIRD ROUND: The third round is in the work now, Volkanovski is doing a nice job here. Islam goes high to the head, but Volkanovski stays on. They lock up for an exchange but separate quickly. Islam with a Huge right and Volkanovski does his own. Volkanovski follows up with a right hand. ##
Isalm goes for a Takedown, but Volkanovski stays focused. Volkanovski is still on his feet, he isn't letting Islam get any offense. Volkanovski switches and there is the top hook. Volkanovski separates. Both fighters are keeping the range. Volkanovski is swinging, but none of them are landing on the spot. Volkanovski with a nice Takedown, but Islam quickly makes it back on his feet, Volkanovski almost gets a Takedown once again. They are in the middle and the round ends here. ##
FOURTH ROUND: We are in the fourth round and they are still crazy as they were from the start. Both fighters are looking active. They take the position, Volkanovski is just outworking in this fight and the crowd is backing down from giving support. Volkanovski with a nice Jab, Islam connects though. Islam with a left hook. ##
Islam goes to legs and he gets the Takedown. Volkanovski scrambles towards the fence. Islam is looking for a Body Triangle right now, but Volkanovski is keeping it out. Islam is throwing useless punches to the head. Still, 1:30 seconds left in the round. Volkanovski is talking to Islam. Volkanovski lands some punches with left hand. The Fourth round ends here. ##
FIFTH ROUND: The Final round is here and it has got to be the incredible one. Islam with a beautiful connection with a left there. A Nice slow low kick there by Volkanovski. Islam is opening a good round here, They exchange knees. Islam with a nice Takedown, but Volkanovski makes a nice reversal and gets back on his feet. Islam with a right hand, Both men are down, and Islam is holding Volkanovski's leg. ##
Volkanovski is looking to step over and they are up once again. 2 minutes to go in the final round. Ankle change and there is a clinch from Volkanovski. Volkanovski is doing incredible work. Volkanovski almost had Islam in the Takedown. Once again they are in the middle. Volkanovski chocks a massive right hand and Islam goes down. Volkanovski gets on his chest and throws nice punches. ##
Volkanovski with non-stop offense and Volkanovski finishes the fight with himself getting on the top. ##
