Raquel Rodriguez defeated Cat Cardoza to claim the first victory on SmackDown. ## Although she was attacked by her opponent Cat Cardoza prior to the bell, the ultra-powerful Raquel Rodriguez quickly rebounded to make a dominant SmackDown debut that culminated with her earth-shattering Chingona Bomb. ## On February 16, 2020, at NXT TakeOver: Portland, González made her first televised appearance since the Mae Young Classic under the ring name Raquel González. Then she went on to have her first pay-per-view match on June 7 at TakeOver: In Your House. ## On April 7, 2021, on the first night of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, González defeated Shirai to become the new NXT Women's Champion. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre will get a match at WrestleMania Backlash. ## It was previously reported that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would close the show but didn't know, this would be the way to end the night. ## On April 29, 2022(tapped on April 22), WWE held a contract signing segment between RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. WWE official Adam Pearce moderated the segment. ## Before they signed the contract, a brawl broke out between the tag team champions from the two brands, leading Roman Reigns to appear and layout the RAW Tag Team Champions. Seeming the offense, Drew McIntyre would add the aid. Full List Of WWE Released Stars On April 29, 2022

Unfortunate news, as WWE has cut ten NXT stars. ## Malcolm Bivens/Stokely Hathaway, Dakota Kai, Raelyn Divine, Mila Malani, Draco Anthony, Sanjana George, Persia Pirotta, Harland, Dexter Lumis and Paige Prinzivalli were all released Friday, April 29. ## John Laurinaitis made the cuts and cited budget cuts as the reason. The email internally read "Due to budgetary cuts, and with immediate effect as of today, 4/29/2022, we have come to the terms to release the following." ## Those cited have 30-day non compete clauses. ## According to Fightful Select, Malcolm Bivens, now again Stokely Hathaway, had made it abundantly clear that he didn't plan on re-signing. He'd also done this last year, but was re-signed as a result of the pitch of the Diamond Mine stable after not being used on TV for two years. Hathaway was offered a new deal in February, but informed WWE that he wouldn't be signing it. ## There was a significant push within WWE Digital to feature Bivens more as well. ## Dakota Kai was said to have seen the release coming, and beyond that had indicated to WWE that she was not planning on renewing her WWE contract. She had several looks on the main roster with dark matches, but had no idea if she'd be called up around draft time. ## Harland had signed with WWE after much hype, but coaches and officials felt like he'd not progressed in the ring quite enough for their liking. ## Several angles, acts and stories were affected with little to no notice or preparation. WWE's Live Event In Newcastle featured Bobby Lashley Vs. Drew McIntyre in the main event matchup. ## As you can see below in the video, During the match, the Scottish Warrior reversed a move from All-Mighty and sent him to the ropes. After Drew foiled a clothesline attempt, the two men once again bounced off the ropes but this time the top rope broke.## Lashley fell headlong to the ground and was immediately checked out by ringside personnel. ## However, Lashley seemed fine and was able to finish the match. He can be seen being rolled back in the ring by Sami Zayn in the video below.
