Mumbai, October 23 - Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz, scored an underwhelming viewership in the first two weeks on Netflix despite the positive critics' reviews.## The movie generated 7.4 million views in the first 10 days, which included 4 million views in the opening weekend and 3.4 million views in the full second week. It has failed to beat Akshay and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which minted 8 million views in 10 days. ## Interestingly, the viewership of Khel Khel Mein dipped in the second week, unlike BMCM where viewership grew after the first weekend. The critics' response has also been opposite to both movies as BMCM was blasted by critics. ## Khel Khel Mein was originally released in theatres on August 15 this year, however, it performed underwhelming at the box office, grossing approximately 57 crores worldwide. BMCM was also a theatrical release first but got bombed at the box office with around 110 crores worldwide collection. ## Among the films released on Netflix this year after their theatrical releases, Khel Khel Mein's viewership is the 9th highest after the first 2 weeks. Mumbai, April 25 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's fronted action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has crossed 100 crores at the worldwide box office but it is not a chest-thumping achievement due to the poor progress in reaching the mark. ## Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has taken 14/15 days to reach 100 crores worldwide, a target which should have been achieved in the opening weekend itself but the chances were dismissed after the below-average start. ## The movie has grossed around 69 crores at the domestic box office and an estimated 31 crores overseas. BMCM is the 6th Bollywood film of 2024 to hit 100 crores worldwide and for Akshay Kumar, it is his first of 2024 and 3rd movie since the covid-19 pandemic. Mumbai, April 19 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-fronted Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has had a disappointing first-week collection at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. Despite the Eid release and strong cast and crew, the movie failed to cash in on the opportunity. ## Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action thriller scored a little under 50 crores net collection in all versions, including an estimated 49.25 crores in Hindi in the extended 8-day first week. Ideally, for a film like BMCM, this should have been a 2-day collection. ## At the overseas box office, BMCM was released through Yash Raj Films but the response was underwhelming as it scored an estimated 27 crores in the first week. Adding to the domestic gross collection of approximately 59.50 crores, the movie grossed 86.50 crores worldwide which is a very poor total. ## BMCM is heading for a finish under 125 crores worldwide against a budget of over 300 crores, turning into a big failure at the box office. Mumbai, April 14 - Pooja Entertainment's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has a low-extended first weekend at the domestic box office with a net collection of 40.25+ crores. The movie failed to overcome mixed to negative reception despite the Eid weekend. ## The Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer hasn't grown much on its first Sunday with a collection similar to yesterday for an estimated 8.75-9.25 crores net. The mass centres have contributed more to the overall total but are nowhere near the potential of a film featuring an A-list star cast with a blockbuster director. ## Given the flat trend over the weekend, it is clear that the movie hasn't been able to connect with the audiences, be it multiplex or mass. A super strong hold on Monday is crucial for the film if the movie wants to go anywhere near the 100 crore net mark. ## Ajay Devgn-starrer sports biopic Maidaan failed to convert the positive word of mouth into footfalls with a poor 4-day weekend with around 21.75 crores net collection. Mumbai, April 13 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan shows a jump of around 15% on its first Saturday which might not be good enough after the underwhelming first two days for a movie carrying massive cost. ## According to early estimates, Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial flick scored 8.50-9 crores net, pushing the total to around 31.75 crores in 3-days. Ideally, the movie should have scored somewhere close to the opening day collection to get close to 50 crores opening weekend but it will now fall well short of that target. ## The opening weekend of BMCM is heading towards 40-43 crores net which is poor for the size of the movie. The biz on Monday will give a fair idea of where the film is heading as far as the lifetime collection is concerned. ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-fronted Maidaan sees a big jump of around 80% on its third day, however, the overall collection remains on the lower side with an estimated 5.50-6 crores net. The big jump was a must for the film after earning nowhere near its potential in the first two days. ## The total collection of the film after three days is over 15.50 crores net which is still very poor for a big-budget film. The movie will need to show a similar or bigger jump on Sunday as well and then will have to hope for a strong hold on Monday to stand a chance for a decent lifetime total. ## The good thing for both BMCM is that there is not a big release for the next couple of weeks so they will have a chance to collect if manage to hold on Monday. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, April 12 - After the underwhelming Eid opening day, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-fronted Bade Miyan Chote Miyan dropped by over 50% on its second day which is a worrying sign for the film's box office prospects. ## According to early estimates, BMCM scores around 7 crores net collection on its first Friday, pushing the total to around 22.50 crores net in two days. The movie received mixed to negative word of mouth which has started showing its effect from the second day itself despite the Eid buzz. ## The film needs to perform exceptionally well on Saturday and Sunday to take the opening weekend past 50 crores mark, however, it won't be easy as advances for the weekend are currently lower than the opening day. ## Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan too couldn't make a move after the disappointing first-day collection of approximately 4.50 crores net. On its second day, the movie dropped by over 40% for an estimated 2.50-3 crores net despite the opening day itself was not huge enough to justify the drop. ## The total collection of Maidaan after two days + paid preview is around 9.75 crores net which is poor.
