AEW Dynamite 7/6 Results: Wardlow Wins TNT Championship

The July 6th edition of AEW Dynamite brought gold for Wardlow!






During the edition, Wardlow laid down Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship in a street fight. Although Sky had several members of the American Top Team at ringside, Wardlow won the championship after hitting his signature powerbomb symphony on Sky.






This is the first title win for Wardlow in AEW. While Sky's second reign with the title officially comes to an end with tonight's loss. His second reign with the belt lasted 70 days.






Wardlow made his debut for AEW on the November 13 episode of Dynamite, attacking Cody. After being "under contract" to MJF for nearly three years, Wardlow became an member of the official AEW roster after he defeated MJF at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view back in May.






Wardlow wrestled his AEW debut match on the February 19, 2020 episode of Dynamite, where he lost to Cody in a steel cage match.

Cage attempts a killswitch, but Wardlow thwarts the maneuver and counters with a thunderous corner shoulder tackle. Wardlow momentarily retreats to the outside to retrieve a ladder, but Cage intercepts him, dropkicking the ladder into the champion. However, Wardlow swiftly recovers and hurls the ladder at Cage while he's airborne.
