AEW Dynamite Results November 22, 2023: Highlights

Continental Classic Gold League: Swerve Strickland vs. Jay Lethal

Strickland, with his shoulder taped up, earned the crowd's support after a dynamic Texas Death Match at Full Gear. The match showcased quick exchanges, including a head scissors and a clever misdirect basement dropkick from Strickland. Lethal retaliated with a slam on Strickland's injured shoulder.

The bout featured a superplex and a rolling Flatliner from Strickland, countered by Lethal's inside cradle and a top-rope elbow. Strickland, resilient, dodged the Lethal Injection, applied a Stretch Muffler, but Lethal turned it into a Crossface. In a decisive move, Strickland dropkicked Lethal's leg, followed by the House Call and Swerve Stomp, securing the victory.

WINNER: Swerve Strickland

Backstage, Orange Cassidy tries to make an announcement, but Wheeler Yuta interrupts, criticizing Jon Moxley's defeat. MJF and Adam Cole enter the ring. MJF boasts about retaining the AEW Title, praises Jay White, and addresses the theft of his Devil mask.

Samoa Joe interrupts, reminding MJF of their deal for a title shot. After some banter, MJF agrees to face Joe at Worlds End. Joe warns he'll take what MJF values most on Long Island.

Orange Cassidy, HOOK & Katsuyori Shibata (w/Danhausen) vs. Angelo Parker, Matt Menard & Jake Hager

Before the match, Cassidy teased a Thanksgiving surprise, revealing a Danhausen video. The match began with HOOK dominating Menard & Parker until Hager's surprise attack. During the bout, Danhausen, donning Hager's long-lost purple hat, cursed him. Cassidy, HOOK, Shibata, and Danhausen secured victory with dueling submissions, leaving them standing tall.

WINNER: Orange Cassidy, HOOK & Katsuyori Shibata (w/Danhausen)

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Adam Cole, expressing excitement for his return. Roderick Strong interrupts, referencing last week's incident. Cole sharply dismisses Strong, emphasizing they're no longer best friends, leaving Strong visibly hurt and clarifying to The Kingdom that Cole didn't mean it.

Excalibur notes Will Ospreay joining AEW at Full Gear. Christian Cage renames Luchasaurus to "Killswitch" and Nick Wayne as "The Prodigy." In a heated segment, Cage attempts to harm Nick's mother, Shayna, but Adam Copeland intervenes, delivering a Con-Chair-To. Meanwhile, backstage, Anna Jay confronts Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and Jake Hager about their intentions after their match.

Switchblade Jay White vs. Rush in the Continental Classic Gold League

White, accompanied by The Gunns, was surprised to find out there's no ringside allowed. Rush dominated early with a chop sending White into the railing. After a commercial break, Rush controlled most of the match, but a low blow from White and a Blade Runner secured his victory after a near collision with the referee.

WINNER: Switchblade Jay White

A clip shows Ricky Starks & Big Bill attacking Chris Jericho post-Full Gear, targeting his injured arm.

Onstage, WrestleAunts RJ City & Renee Paquette present the AEW Women’s Title to Timeless Toni Storm in the crowd. Storm, with Luther, accepts and begins her speech, thanking various individuals. As she's played off, Skye Blue's music interrupts, and she heads to the ring for their upcoming match. Storm looks visibly miffed by the interruption.

Skye Blue vs. Ruby Soho (w/Saraya) and Anna Jay (w/Matt Menard & Angelo Parker)

Soho faced Parker after a chaotic sequence of pinfall attempts. Jay and Blue exchanged moves, but Soho regained control with a Saito suplex on Blue. Parker's interference led to a commercial break. Returning, a powerbomb superplex occurred, but Jay couldn't secure the pin.

Soho and Jay were sent outside, where Soho threw Blue into the barricade. Jay confronted Soho, and a scuffle ensued. Back in the ring, Blue managed to hit a sloppy TKO on Soho for the win, amid distractions and disagreements at ringside.

WINNER: Skye Blue

Renee Paquette interviews Wardlow backstage about the Worlds End main event. When asked about MJF, Wardlow says the devil's downfall will happen on his terms. AR Fox accuses Wardlow of blaming others, citing a similar situation with Darby Allin. Wardlow dismisses Fox's advice, asserting he doesn't need anyone's guidance and promptly brushes him off.

Continental Classic Gold League: Jon Moxley vs. Mark Briscoe

Briscoe and Moxley wasted no time in a fast-paced exchange. Moxley busted Briscoe open during a break, but Briscoe fought back with a rolling Death Valley Driver and a Froggy Bow for a near fall. Moxley hit a King Kong Lariat and a Death Rider, securing the win. The two showed mutual respect after the match, with Moxley shaking hands with Briscoe to close the show.

WINNER: Jon Moxley
