Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' CBFC Certificate and Theatrical Runtime Revealed
Mumbai, March 27 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's long-awaited sports biopic Maidaan is finally coming to the big screens this Eid. Directed by Amit Sharma ("Badhaai Ho"), the movie will be hitting theatres on April 10, in a direct clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan".
Maidaan has been in development for a long time and it is being touted as one of the finest Bollywood films ever made. The trailer of the film was released recently which helped it to generate much-needed buzz leading to its release during the Eid holiday.
Produced by Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios, Maidaan has reportedly been censored with a 'U/A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes, making it one of the longest Bollywood films.
Maidaan is expected to take a good start at the box office and keeping that in mind, the booking for the same will reportedly commence on April 2nd.
Spanning from 1952 to 1962, the film chronicles the life and journey of Syed Abdul Rahim, an esteemed football coach who revolutionized the sport in India. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim alongside Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao in key roles.
