All-Time Box Office Blockbuster 'Chhaava' OTT Release Date Announced

Mumbai, April 10 - Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava is nearing its box office run. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film was released on February 14, and since then, it has been a one-horse race at the box office with the worldwide collection of over 800 crores gross.

Chhaava is currently in its 8th week and is already the highest-grossing Indian film of the year so far. While the movie is still playing in a handful of cinemas, the makers have announced its digital release date as pre-decided.



On Thursday (April 10), Netflix announced on social media that Chhaava would start streaming on its platform on Friday (April 11), 56 days after its theatrical debut. The movie is expected to bring huge viewership to the streamer since it has been one of the most talked-about theatrical Indian titles of the year.

Produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, who is played by Vicky Kaushal in the movie. Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Yesubai Bhonsale, while Akshaye Khanna stars as Aurangzeb alongside Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta, among others in key roles.
