Box Office: 'Amaran' Becomes Sivakarthikeyan's Biggest Grosser
Chennai, November 4 - The biographical war action drama Amaran has had a sensational first weekend at the domestic and worldwide box office, exceeding expectations by a long margin. The movie is proving to be a game changer for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the last few years has been noteworthy.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran grossed around 25 crores domestically in India on Sunday, which took its total collection to approximately 95.50 crores in 4 days, making it the biggest domestic grosser for the actor. By today (5th day), it will become the first 100 crore domestic grosser for the actor.
The domestic gross includes an excellent 66.50+ crores in the home state, Tamil Nadu and it will most likely enter the 100 crore club in the state by the second weekend. Apart from TN, the movie has done in Telugu states to gross around 16.00 crores, followed by 7.50 crores in Karnataka, 4.30+ crores in Kerala and over 1 crore in the rest of the domestic market.
Overseas, the film has grossed an estimated 43 crores in the 4-day opening weekend, pushing the total worldwide collection to around 138.50 crores. It has surpassed the lifetime total of Don (114 crores gross) to become Siva's biggest worldwide grosser in just 4 days which is remarkable. It is also the biggest grosser for director Periasamy and actress Sai Pallavi.
Amaran is expected to surpass Kamal Haasan and S. Shankar's Indian 2 (149 crores gross) by the end of the 5th day to become the 4th biggest Tamil grosser of 2024. By tomorrow, it will become the 3rd biggest club and it will eye to score 200 crores WW gross during the second weekend to become the first for the main cast.
