Box Office: Dhanush's 'Vaathi/SIR' Crossed 100 Crores Gross Worldwide
Chennai, March 5 - Tamil star Dhanus's action drama Vaathi/SIR has crossed 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming only the second film of the actor to reach the mark.
The Venky Atluri-directed Tamil-Telugu bilingual flick has taken just 17 days to reach the box office milestone. It grossed approx. 99.50 crores through the third Saturday (16 days) and is expected to collect approx. 2 crores gross on 3rd Sunday to take the movie past the 100 crores mark.
"Vaathi" has grossed approx. 43.50 crores domestically so far while its Telugu version ("Sir") has minted approx. 34.50 crores gross for total domestic cume to 78 crores. The overseas collection of the film is approx. 22.50 crores, which is excellent for Dhanush-starrer.
Produced by Sithara Entertainment, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Cinemas, "Vaathi/SIR" is having close numbers in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states. In TN, the movie has grossed approx. 35 crores so far while Telugu states have generated approx. 33 crores gross.
