Box Office: Dream Girl 2 Emerges Actor Ayushmann Khurrana's Biggest Opener

Mumbai, August 26 - Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurana is finally back in the game and delivered the biggest opener of his career in the form of Dream Girl 2.

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the comedy-drama scored 10.69 crores net collection on its opening day, which is the biggest ever start for Ayushmann Khurrana, beating Bala which scored 10.15 crores net opening and went on to score 116.38 crores lifetime collection.



This is also the only third time that the actor's film has taken a double-digit opening. Earlier, apart from Bala, the original Dream Gil scored 10.05 crores net collection on its opening day and is now the third biggest opener for the actor. Dream Girl is the highest-grossing film of Ayushmann with 141.30 crores in lifetime net collection.

The initial word of mouth for Dream Girl 2 is mixed to positive, plus the franchise value should help the movie grow on Saturday and Sunday. The opening weekend collection can be expected to be around 40 crores net which will be a fantastic result for the film.

Ayushmann Khurrana was continuously giving hit after hit before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, things changed drastically after the pandemic as all four theatrical releases of the actor ended as flops with Doctor G being the biggest grosser of them with 28 crores net.
