Box Office: Dunki First Sunday Early Estimates; Tops 100 Crore Net

Mumbai, December 24 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's social dramedy Dunki is having its best day at the domestic box office so far with net collection topping the 30 crores mark for the first time on its first Sunday.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki had witnessed a jump of around 28% on Saturday, and today, the movie jumps further by around 25% to collect an estimated 31-32 crores net. The total collection of the movie has crossed the 100 crores net mark at 105+ crores in 4 days.



The business of Dunki is driven by multiplex with family audiences coming in good numbers. Maharashtra and Delhi continue to lead the overall biz. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab also witnessed a good turnaround as business in these states increased on Sunday.

The film is expected to score good numbers on Monday as well as on Christmas day, and then, it will depend on how it performs from Tuesday. The word of mouth among its target audience is good and the expectations are there that it will perform well during the weekdays and New Year weekend.

Though Dunki has done good business so far it is nowhere near SRK's last two films. But as said, it was somehow expected as the latest flick, which is a heartwarming emotional drama, doesn't fall in the lines of Jawan and Pathaan which were action entertainers for which there is a wide audience available.
