Box Office: Fighter Is Steady After First Monday Crash
Mumbai, February 3 - After the harsh first Monday crash, Hrithik Roshan's Fighter has shown a much better hold since then and now, it has started the second weekend on a good note.
The Siddharth Anand's directorial had a good opening weekend with 118.50 crores net collection over 4 days, however, the harsh drop of over 70% for approximately 8 crores net on its first Monday raised the eyebrows of the trade which felt the movie won't survive from there on.
After that Monday crash, Fighter needed to steady the ship as another fall would have been the end of its journey at the box office but with positive word of mouth, especially in metro cities, making sure the film didn't drop further beyond the regular dip.
Over the next three days (Tuesday - Thursday), the film held better with a regular drop of around 10% to score 146.50 crores net in the extended first 8-day week. Fighter crossed the 150 crores net mark on its second Friday with approximately 5.75 crores net collection, for approximately 152.25 crores net in 9 days. The second weekend is expected to score over 20+ crores net.
Fighter is very good at the overseas box office and has so far grossed an estimated 76 crores in 9 days. The total worldwide collection of the film is around 259 crores. It will be crossing the 300 crores mark in the second week.
