Box Office: Jurassic World Dominion Races Past $1 Billion Globally
Los Angeles, September 26 - Dinosaurs come to the party again and give Universal Pictures reasons to celebrate!
Director Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World Dominion has passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office, thanks to the fantastic run in Japan where it has grossed $46.1 million. That makes it the third straight Jurassic movie and the fourth overall alongside Jurassic Park to hit the milestone.
The Chris Pratt-fronted science fiction action adventure film has grossed $376 million in North America and $624+ million overseas, and this, after negative reviews, is a massive achievement. It has become the 51st movie of all-time and 3rd post the covid-19 pandemic to reach the $1 billion mark.
"Jurassic World Dominion" is one of the few franchises that is ruling the box office without having superpowers character. All thanks to the people's love for Dinosaurs, the six-film franchise has earned a combined $6.02 billion worldwide on a combined budget of around $734 million.
According to Forbes, the Jurassic remains the most profitable (in terms of budget versus theatrical) big-budget franchise of all time. Even the four Avengers films only earned $7.757 billion on a combined $1.142 billion budget.
