Box Office: 'Jurassic World Dominion' Tops $900 Million Worldwide
Los Angeles, July 18 - Universal Pictures' science fiction action adventure film Jurassic World Dominion has crossed the $900 million mark at the worldwide box office, despite getting very poor reviews from critics.
The Colin Trevorrow-directed $185 million budgeted movie has scored $902 million through Sunday (July 17), becoming the 3rd movie of 2022 to reach the milestone. The huge worldwide cume box office of the movie includes $359.7 million domestically (North America) and a strong $542.7 million at the overseas box office.
The sequel to Jurassic "World: Fallen Kingdom" (2018) and the third film in the Jurassic World franchise, the latest blockbuster tentpole continues to be the biggest Hollywood title of the year in China where it has crossed RMB 1B to stand at $150M. Most of the Hollywood tentpoles have failed to grab China release over various differences.
The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill. It is currently the third highest-grossing film of 2022 worldwide after Tom Cruise's "Top Gun Maverick" ($1.24B), and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" ($954M).
"Jurassic World 3" has been a hit at the Indian box office with approx. 85 crores gross ($10.6 million). It is this year's 3rd highest Hollywood grosser in India, after "Doctor Strange 2" ($20.2M), and "Thor: Love and Thunder" ($14.5M).
