Box Office: Kantara And PS-1 Third Sunday Early Estimates
Bengaluru, October 16 - Hombale Films' adventure action thriller Kantara has had the biggest day of its box office run so far on its 3rd Sunday. The movie went overdrive to clock the mammoth as the early estimates suggest 23 crores gross on its 17th day for all languages.
The Rishab Shetty-starrer has already become the non-KGF highest-grossing Kannada movie at the worldwide box office and with 3rd Sunday's collection has reached about 140 crores gross, including 100 approx. 100 crores in Karnataka state.
The Hindi version of the movie was released on October 14 after the huge demand and it performed well in the opening weekend by clocking 9.50 crores gross, including an estimated 4.70 crores on Sunday. The Telugu version was released a day later to Hindi and has grossed approx. 9.70 crores in just two days.
Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam's mega-blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 has had another big day at the domestic box office, grossing an estimated 8.75-9 crores gross on its 3rd Sunday. The total worldwide gross collection of the movie now reached about 435 crores in 17 days.
In Tamil Nadu, "PS-1" is nearing the untouched 200 crores mark. It has so far grossed approx. 195 crores in 17 days, and will most probably breach the landmark box office milestone before the end of the 3rd week to become the first ever film to achieve the feat.
