Box Office: Kantara On Course For 200 Crores Gross Worldwide
Bengaluru, October 20 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's adventure action thriller film Kantara is holding phenomenally well over the weekdays at the domestic box office.
Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" is on course to enter Rs. 200 crores club at the worldwide box office. At the time of its release, even Rs. 100 crores was looking like a far cry but such has been the response to the movie from audiences across the country, Rs. 200 crores now looks well within reach.
The movie has grossed approx. 170 crores worldwide in 20 days and by the end of its week, it is expected to reach about 175 crores. With the Diwali holidays upfront, "Kantara" should reach the milestone despite the fact that there are many films releasing this weekend across languages.
"Kantara" has grossed approx. 120 crores in the original Kannada version, followed by Telugu with approx. 18 crores (5 days), and Hindi with approx. 15 crores (6 days). The Tamil version has been decent with around 2 crores gross in 5 days.
Meanwhile, "Kantara" is also scripting history at the USA box office and has already become the second highest-grossing Kannada movie after "KGF: Chapter 2" with approx. $700K. The film is now moving toward the $1 million mark, which will truly be a sensational achievement for its size of release.
