Box Office: 'Mufasa - The Lion King' Tops 100 Crore Gross In India
Mumbai, December 29 - Disney's animated adventure Mufasa: The Lion King has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the third Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its second Saturday (9th day) as EOD gross is expected to be 108+ crores (including 3D charges). The movie has benefitted from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu languages.
The original English version of the film is the top contributor with around 39 crores gross, closely followed by Hindi with 37 crores gross while Telugu and Tamil have generated around 32 crores gross in 9 days. Mufasa is having a fantastic second weekend in all versions.
Mufasa is likely to beat Godzilla x Kong (134 crores gross) this week to become the second biggest Hollywood grosser of the year in India and will also look to down Deadpool 3 (169 crores gross) in its lifetime run to claim the top spot.
