Box Office: Munjya Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 7 - The latest entry in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjya surprises with a better-than-expected opening at the domestic box office, thanks to the lower-than-normal ticket prices which boosted its prospects.

The movie has less face value but its connection with the horror-comedy universe, plus reasonable ticket prices seem to have worked wonders as it has taken the opening of 3.50-3.75 crores net, as per the early estimates, which wasn't looking a possibility before the release.



Munjya scored a decent pre-sales which indicated the opening in the range of 2 crores net but credit should be given to the makers for opting for non-popular prices. The initial word of mouth also seems to be on the positive side which pushes the collection beyond 3 crores net.

The opening weekend collection of Munjya could well be 13-15 crores net which is a good total. It will then depend on the hold on Monday which will give an idea about where is heading.
