Box Office: PS-1 And Kantara First Thursday Early Estimates
Chennai, October 6 - The epic blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 holds strongly on its first Thursday and scored an estimated 13-14 crores, taking a total domestic gross collection to over 215 crores in one week.
The movie continues to score in the home state, Tamil Nadu as it scored an estimated approx. 9 crores on Thursday. The total collection in the state has reached approx. 140 crores and it is expected to near 200 crores by the end of the second weekend.
After the original Tamil language, the dubbed Hindi version has been the most fruitful for the movie. It minted 13.4 crores net in the first 6 days and mints approx. 80 lakh more on Thursday. At the worldwide box office, "PS-1" has crossed 330 crores after today's collection.
Meanwhile, the Kannada movie Kantara has had another big day at the box office and minted an estimated 5.50 crores net on Thursday, dropping just 20% from yesterday. The first-week collection of this Rishab Shetty-starrer has reached approx. 38.50 crores net while worldwide, it is near the 50 crores mark.
"Kantara" is the best-rated movie of all time on Book My Show and it is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The makers have announced it will release in the Hindi language soon and this could hugely benefit its lifetime run.
