Box Office: The Kashmir Files Crosses 300 Crores Gross Worldwide

Mumbai, March 30 - Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" has crossed the milestone of 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office and becomes the first Bollywood movie since Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" (2020) to reach the milestone.

Based on the true stories of the painful exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits, TKF has grossed 265 crores (232.97 cr. net) domestically and approx. 38 crores overseas over 19 days. The total worldwide gross collection now stands at 303 crores. It has become the 35th Bollywood movie to achieve the box office landmark.



The Anupam Kher-fronted movie has also become the 15th highest net earning Hindi film in India of all time. It crossed "Kick" (231.85 cr.), "Krrish 3" (231.79 cr.), "Chennai Express" (227.13 cr.), "Bharat" (212.03 cr.), and "Housefull 4" (210.3 cr.) in the top 20 list.

Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts, Zee Studios, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri, "The Kashmir Files" has exceeded all the low trade expectations. Before its release on March 11, the movie was projected to finish below 50 crores in its lifetime box office run, which is nowhere close to the actual numbers.

Due to the release of SS Rajamouli's "RRR", TKF has slowed down a bit but it has still enough fuel left to sail through. It will cross the 250 crores net mark over the 4th weekend and might reach the 300 crores mark in its lifetime run. It has already become Vivek Agnihotri's highest-grossing film of his career by a long margin.

The 20 crores budget film also stars Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar, Bhasha Sumbli, Mrinal Kulkarni, Atul Srivastava, among others in key roles.
