Box Office: Top 5 Biggest Opening Day In India; Pushpa 2 Tops

Hyderabad, December 6 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule had a record-breaking opening day at the domestic box office which saw it becoming the first movie ever to breach the 200 crores gross mark in India, including the premieres.

Pushpa 2 has beaten all the previous record holders by a big margin to record the biggest opening ever. SS Rajamouli's action dramas RRR and Baahubali 2 are the only other movies to cross the 150 crores gross mark domestically where RRR is slightly ahead of it as the second biggest grosser now, behind Pushpa 2.

Here Are Top 5 Biggest Openers At The Indian Box Office (Estimated Gross Collection) -

1. Pushpa 2 - The Rule - 209 crores approx. (including premiers)

2. Baahubali 2 - 156 crores approx.

3. RRR - 152 crores approx.

4. KGF: Chapter 2 - 134.50 crores approx.

5. Kalki 2898 AD - 114 crores approx.

Apart from the biggest domestic start, Pushpa 2 also broke the biggest worldwide opening of RRR (223 crores gross) as it scored a mammoth approximately 275 crores, including 66 crores at the overseas box office. It is the biggest overseas Indian opener of 2024, beating Kalki 2898 AD.
